!! ALLERGIES? READ: !! I was happy to dine here sometime early-2020 due to the menu listing allergies for each dish, a much appreciated addition. I got the chicken skewers, it was good, but later on I realized that I was having a strong allergic reaction. I'm allergic to peanuts, that's why I specifically ordered the chicken, the menu specifically said that it wouldn't be in contact with peanuts. This is unacceptable. This could've been a life or death situation if it wasn't for me bringing my epipen.
Edit: This review is a re-post since I can't reply to the comment that the owners of Monsieur Vuong made. I'm removing the "Go to hell" at the end because I was emotional and regretted it after posting, but it really was a life threatening situation that could've ended my life.
I want to respond to the owners comment ("Why didn't you)
Why I didn't address the waiters was because it was a quick meal, I had already left for my hotel room and didn't worry about the burning feeling in my stomach because the meal was naturally spicy. A couple minutes later after walking out (I left my friends to go shopping before heading to my room) I had a feeling that something was wrong, and yeah something WAS wrong. I wouldn't classify my review as complaining on the internet, I'm leaving very real criticism and warning other people with allergies to not trust your menu. I was puking while on the phone with my mother, telling her that I love her while scared for my life. Please consider...
Read moreOn September 20th, we went to eat at the restaurant. Three things to highlight: The soup came with a hair in it (I didn’t make a big deal out of it because I’m not overly squeamish). The spicy sauces they have for sharing — which I assume have been there longer than Nefertiti’s been in the museum — had a dead fly in them (I solved this by simply not adding any spicy sauce to my soup). When it came time to pay, the first transaction was declined, but I was charged a second time — this time successfully. Upon checking my bank account on the spot, I saw I had been charged twice. The waitress said one of the payments would be refunded in about 5–10 minutes. After speaking with my bank, they confirmed that both charges were confirmed. A refund for the duplicate charge has been requested. I’m still waiting for a response from them regarding the claim I filed with my bank. If the duplicate amount is not refunded, I will proceed to file a police report with all the documentation. Be careful with this restaurant! With just a bit more searching, you’ll easily find much better places — especially with better...
Read moreOur general opinion is that the food is overrated and not worth the price. We ordered a beef pho and a Bo Xao La Lot, the pho turned out to be quite salty. Although the beef pho can be ordered in either a regular or large size, we were not asked about this when we ordered and only realised that it was the large size that we were paying for when we left. This comes as such a surprise to us because their so-called large pho bowl is no more than the standard amount offered by other pho restaurants. They use quite large bowls in this restaurant to make you feel that the food is plentiful, when in fact it is not. Whereas in the past I could leave any Vietnamese restaurant with a full stomach after having a large bowl of pho, this is the first time I have left still hungry and had to pay for 'large' without even realising it. You can easily find better Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin, both in terms of taste and value, elsewhere. Not...
