Little racist Hansel and Gretel. From the moment you sit at the bar, the hostility is palpable. Gretel kept asking with exasperation if I was ready to order food when I had cutlery already with me, since Hansel took my order. Gretel was also obsessed with taking the menu that I was studying from me. Though they had plenty of other copies available for people. When I said I needed to decide my next drink with it, Gretel says, “Oh, you’re having another drink?”

With wine, if you’re not white, they won’t let you taste before a full pour, even if you say you’ll try it first.

When you bring up the different treatment, Hansel will get defensive before hearing you, tell you it’s a problem with your delivery, and that you should have asked to taste first. Although you did. Twice. Hansel says you only get to taste if you order a bottle. You saw the bar full of people being courteously served a taste before their glass. But not you. Even though you asked. Twice.

Food is terrible as well. A joke. Over-salting is their flavouring of choice. Their inspiration, 90’s Jaime Oliver, bless his soul.

This seems to be a place run by another group of try-hard Berliners, resentful of foreigners, wishing they were Parisian, with no awareness of how stupid and racist they come off to global citizens. You have no style whatsoever.

A business that would never make it outside Berlin, with its likewise try-hard followers. Don’t bother giving...

I’ve seen recent reviews about this and a few being quite recent too… Been here once before, have lovely memories, wide variety of amazing options! I go a few days ago and have the one of my worst service experience… the person serving us was honestly not having it. we came before it got packed so im not sure why they were so unfriendly.. in fact they were EXTREMELY nice to the 2 next us but once we’ve ordered and received our food & beverage they wouldnt even say anything nor look me to the eye.. I honestly took this VERY personal and just RUDE to not acknowledge BOTH customers who are both asking for recommendations and trying to keep this friendly. lastly, multiple times we wanted to order other things but they completely just IGNORED and A LOVELY guy with such amazing energy and infectious smile served us that one time.

At this point, i’m not sure if i’d recommend it… Such a cozy place, good variety of beverage and fingerfood on the pricier , but if u had a long workday and want to treat yourself & you receive THAT service…...

Overwhelming arrogance. This place was recommended to us by the owner of ‘Planet Wine’, another wine bar 5 min away. Unfortunately, ‘Freundschaft’, unlike their neighbours, are horrible at hospitality. No wonder other people complained about their behaviour. Can’t rate their wines, but can definitely advise you not to risk ruining your mood on a Friday night. Vaccinated by the local ‘Pfizer’ and having travelled in a few countries with no problems in the last few months they refused my printed EU vaccination certificate. My phone was dead (yes, it happens) and they actually told me they ‘only accept e-versions of the vaccination certificate’. After offering my ID in addition, I was still refused.
