House of Weekend — Restaurant in Berlin

I booked a table for me and co-workers, the only string attached was a generous minimum drink order, 150eur per couple.

We ordered as soon as we came and no drinks showed up for 40 minutes. Finally when I raised my voice, I could make another order and not everything ordered came to the table. We tried to order cocktails twice and they simply refused to serve us the drinks. As we were not getting the service promised, my co-workers got impatient and went to the bar to order drinks and spent several hundred euros in total. One bartender tried to steal money from my co-worker and she had to scream at him to get her drink with a lame "sorry" from him. When I went to settle our tab at the end of the evening, the staff refused to recognize their screwup, did not want to recognize the orders at the bar, even though we have a visa charge that says otherwise. They set it up so I we couldn't possibly meet the minimum drink order and they could keep the difference. They threatened to call the police multiple times, and I told them to do it. I was very willing to explain to the police that they were extorting us. I guess I called their lame bluff as they didn't want the police there at all.

The staff was very rude, very unprofessional and after long and angry letter to the manager, he decided to do nothing. I've never heard as lame excuses as he came up with.

I would give this establishment 0 stars...

The place was amazing, modern, industrial with absolutely smashing music. I really had a blast. The crowd? It was lovely to see so many beautiful, cool people having fun. Loved, loved, loved the rooftop bar. Prices at the bar were pretty affordable for Berlin, 20€ entry fee, and the location is simply the best. However, I have to say that the afterparty after the Nicki Minaj concert was a little too busy even and it was difficult to move around. It sure contributed to the hot and heavy atmosphere for but I think somebody really should have put a stop to letting people in at some point. We got there at 12:10 and the place was as already crowded to the point that you could barely squeeze in and even more people came later on. Regardless of that, I’d love to go back on a slower day and enjoy my time on the rooftop even more. My boyfriend (a black man) and I had no issue of getting in and he was even wearing shorts. Great View - Poor Drinks - Bad Music - Too expensive for what it is.

Amazing View - one of the best in Berlin. The lounges on the terrace are a great idea and give the area a nice vibe. The venue itself is very nicely done. Nice bar and even the club-area looks neat. Recommendable for a nice after-work chill in summer. However my Moskow-Mule was terrible, the other selection of drinks is rather small. The crowd was not very well picked (eventhough there are 5 grim-looking bouncers outside) and the music was uninspiring, poorly mixed, etc.

It seemed like HouseOfWeekend is trying to be a fancy, high-end techno/deep-house venue but totally fails at doing it (or attracting the right people).

If this place would attract/pay better DJs, it would attract better/cooler clients. On the otherhand, it being a nice after-work space, it doesn't really allow for strict door policy and so the concept of being high-end techno/deep-house doesnt work. But then again - good MUSIC always...
