Didn't let me in with a recovery + 1 dose + recent booster because they don't understand the 2g rules.
P.S. Answering to the reply from the owner below: The date of my comment is not the same as when we visited. We visited the day before, before the "new" rules were introduced. All your staff had to do was to scan the qr code and check our IDs. They don't have to ask to show the list of certificates. Not only because this is unnecessary, but also because it contains sensitive personal data. The CovidPass app explicitly says not to show the data to anyone and only show the QR code. Both workers asked to show the certificates in the app, which we (regretfully so) did, and this is where the problem comes from. In our case, we don't have three certificates but only two because we 1. Got sick and recovered 2. Got a dose of vaccine (practically first, but technically second considering the recovery) 3. And then we had the booster at the end of December 2021. This is not a "standard" 3-doses situation but completely normal for people who recovered before, and it's acceptable everywhere except your restaurant. Yet your workers confused themselves by looking into the certificates and seeing "only" two, and rejected any explanation we tried to provide. We then had a call with (I assume) a manager who also couldn't understand this. That's despite the fact that one of the certificates (the first one) explicitly states at the top: "this certificate is for one-dose vaccine for recovered people". So my question to you is: why don't you just scan the QR, check and ID and let people in if everything is fine? Why do you need to go into details of specific certificates when you don't understand different situations that can be? In the end you only upset your guests and damage your reputation. I loved the place before and been to it hundreds times. Now I don't feel like coming back because despite following ALL the rules, I wasn't let in and the staff clearly didn't want to listen to me, probably thinking that I am lying or something. I don't...
Read moreFantastic Japanese food, quick service, spartan furnishings. This place was amazing. My wife and I only had a bit of time to grab something quick before an appointment. Quick was the operative word. We were seated immediately (although the place was packed) and a waitress with a handheld device instantly appeared to take our drink orders. The food came out within minutes. I had the grilled eel and my wife had the chopped salmon. We ordered gyoza as an appetizer and it came out practically as soon as our order was in. Everything about this place screams efficiency. The diners are crammed into cafeteria-style seating, wait staff with handheld devices are on the patrol for any diners with their heads raised up from their menus, plates, or phones, and an army of cooks are grilling, steaming, and frying the food to order. To top it all off, the prices are ridiculously cheap. If you need a quick, cheap, delicious bite in the area, I can't recommend Ishin...
Read moreThis Japanese restaurant has a canteen-like vibe with a large dining room and big communal tables. It gets quite busy during lunchtime, but the queue moves quickly, and once seated, you're welcomed with a complimentary cup of hot green tea. The menu primarily focuses on sushi, but also offers Donburi rice bowls, soups, salads, and side dishes.
The miso soup was flavorful without being overly salty, and the sushi was fresh. The teriyaki chicken bowl was good overall, though the teriyaki sauce lacked some depth and there wasn’t enough sauce to coat the chicken and rice. Thankfully, the server promptly provided more sauce upon request. The sushi rice could have been a bit stickier as well.
For a fast-service, high-turnover restaurant, the price-to-quality ratio is fantastic. It's a hidden gem in the heart of the city center, especially for a quick and affordable...
