For some reason, I am not able to respond to the comment of the business after I gave them my review so I will repeat here because I don't know why they are too offended...
Pekmez looks like this: https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=562712696&q=pekmez&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjWrdH8qZOBAxWfQvEDHYyDDIAQ0pQJegQIDhAB&biw=1440&bih=636&dpr=2. You mean "Tahin-Pekmez" I know how tahini, pekmez or tahini-perkmez tastes like and the sauce you offer was neither of those.
I didn't mind that you had no toilet but it was a problem to my 13 guests who were visiting Berlin. I just wanted to notify your prospective customers about it.
I drink like 2 POTS of tea everyday and the tea in your business was not fresh, just suck it up and say "Well, we will be more careful".
Simit was at least 3-4 days old, and you can't make me believe that they were fresh.
I wasn't being arbitrary, I was just stating many facts about the place.
The food doesn't have to be typical to be tasty, I again was stating the facts to prospective customers of yours.
You are being passive aggressive and even if I could probably visit again BUT all things considered, I...
Read moreIf you're in Berlin and craving an authentic Turkish breakfast, Cafe Kiva Han is an absolute gem you shouldn’t miss. It’s not just about food here – it’s about warmth, hospitality, and a taste of home.
The breakfast spread was both generous and delicious. fresh olives, simit, clotted cream with honey, and much more — everything was fresh and full of flavor. But the true standout was the menemen! Perfectly cooked with juicy tomatoes, just the right balance of eggs, and served with warm, fresh bread. It’s the best menemen I’ve had in a very long time.
The tea was always hot, strong, and unlimited — just like in Turkey. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. The ambiance is cozy and tastefully decorated, making you feel right at home. It’s also clear that cleanliness and customer comfort are top priorities here.
Cafe Kiva Han is more than just a breakfast spot — it’s a little slice of Turkey in the heart of Berlin. For its taste, service, and overall experience, I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming Turkish...
Read moreThe food is always fresh and tasty. We've had (so far) : fruit platter ; eggs with tomatoes+feta ; eggs with spinach ; eggs with sucuk ; eggs with minced meat ; vegan eggs with tomato sauce ; garlic yogurt with poached eggs ; breakfast platter with eggs and cheese ; baklava ; pistachio cheesecake.
We've never been disappointed (my favorite so far is eggs + sucuk, if you're very hungry, have it with the large platter with cheese). Every plate came with a lovely and super fresh sesame Simit.
They have various teas and coffees (including decaf) and I personally enjoy the Greek mountain tea.
Service is kind, polite and efficient. The atmosphere is light, not too loud and the decor is pleasant. In the summer, there are tables on the sidewalk.
They take reservations for groups of up to 30 people, though so far, we're always seated right away or with little wait without a reservation. Update : this place is (rightly so) becoming more popular so expect to wait on...
