Olla Berlin — Restaurant in Berlin

Super rude staff. We went inside because the public restroom outside was broken and we had no options. We went and asked politely if we could use their facilities. First nobody was in charge second the bathrooms were within the kitchen areas. They told us to ask the older guy inside and we explained our situation two girls. He said it's one euro a person and we said that's OK we are happy to pay but we don't have cash as we just were going to a public bathroom but we could pay with card. They said it was not possible and said they could not accommodate all people coming in paying with card for the toilet and the toilet is only for guests. We explained that we understood their argumentation but that we had no other option a sthe public toilets were broken. They said several times that they do not care at all and offered jo alternative not even mentioned that we could purchase something. The rudeness of the males staff was overwhelming and convinced us to never return as a customer. In the end we found an establishment staffed with women who showed understanding and let us use the facilities. As an establishelment you should not be haughty and rude. We could have purchased something if the treatment wasn't this bad and if we pay for using the facilities that would make us paying customers as well. Shame on you and the male centric aggressive...

Ordered 2 pints each while here with my 2 friends, in say, about 40 mins (so hardly like we were drunk, or on the verge of getting sick and going back to deface the place). Yet moments (less than 5 mins) after getting up to leave, I realised that I needed to use the toilet. So I turned back around and tried to go back inside, only to find myself having to tussle with the owner/manager to let me use the facilities. He insisted that it was for customers only (he had served us) and suggested that I go across the way to pay to use a public toilet nearby! He did however relent and let me in after I made it clear that I wasn't going to take "no" for an answer.

So in short, while it's a nice location, maybe think twice about paying for such poor customer service. As if my expectations were unattainably high when all I was looking for was a place to sit and have a...

The food is okay and the prices are pretty fair. Just by looking at the menu it is hard to tell the difference between vegetarian and vegan dishes. In a city like Berlin, where there is such a huge demand for vegan food, I would expect this place to have a better definition on the menu of their items. Still, I asked the staff to help me and I had a nice falafel dish (I wasn't sure if the dip they served me was vegan though, so I didn't eat it and gave it to a friend... the place was so crowded and the staff was so busy that it was easier to just give the dip away than trying to find out if it was...
