Kaffeerösterei Röstzeit — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

I honestly don’t understand how this place dares to call itself a specialty coffee shop. They roast their own beans and claim to be experts, yet the coffee tastes like nothing more than liquid bitterness — harsh, flat, and completely unenjoyable. To make it worse, they serve it scalding hot to the point of being undrinkable. This isn’t craftsmanship, it’s negligence.

And the cups? Whoever picked them clearly never tried to use them. The handles are so tiny you can’t even fit a finger through, meaning you’re forced to burn your hand just to take a sip of this abomination.

As if that wasn’t enough, the atmosphere is ruined by the roasting machine at the entrance that emits a constant low humming noise. Instead of creating a cozy vibe, it makes conversation unpleasant and the whole place feel like an afterthought.

If you’re looking for a good coffee experience, look elsewhere. This place is all style in marketing and zero substance...

Clearly Germans like their food fast, as almost every eatery I've had the pleasure of visiting seems to take your order and bring your food schnell! Kaffeerösterei Röstzeit on Oststraße, Düsseldorf follows this same trend however, clearing your table after your meal and bringing your bill isn't part of that trend, I'm afraid.

And that's the only negative I have. I found Kaffeerösterei Röstzeit's atmosphere clean, warm and friendly. Their coffee is really fresh, it's hot and tastes sehr lecker. Their scrambled eggs with fresh tomato, feta and avo was truly tasty. Now if they had enough staff on weekends to better look after their tables, it would be a 4-star experience...

This place has a good ambience. It was around 11am on a Saturday morning, when I visited the place. The place was crowded. The personnel were polite. For indoor dining they needed either test certificate or vaccination certificate. However, it was not needed to sit outside the cafe. They offer various hot drinks as well as few desserts. I ordered a latte macchiato and an avacado-pistachio kuchen. Latte macchiato tasted good, it was not bitter to my liking. Avacado-pistachio kuchen wasn’t too sweet except for the sugar coating on the top which was too sweet for me. However, it tasted really good to my surprise. I would recommend this...
