To be honest, for the place which has specialisation to coffee, it could be better. It looks like the hipster cafe, with over expensive banana bread and stuff like that. I have ordered cappuccino, nobody asked me what size. And I saw later in the menu by QR-code, that there are small amd medium there. To cappuccino I have got one small glass of water. Do not want exactly why, cause I did not order espresso, but it is totally fine. Unfortunately, this water was from the tap and it tasted not good. My "small" cappuccino was more milk than coffee and costed 4 EUR (the middle one 5,5). Pretty expensive, but absolutely nothing special and definetely not better than everywhere else.

THE coffee shop in the town :) Because It is not enough to have a Marsocco and a wonderful grinder if you put dark roast bean at 6euros/250g(a coffee producer can have a correct life at this price and can take care of environment!) !!!!! Here, you can find delicious coffee(about 10euros/250g minimum price for a good coffee) carefully done at each step: green bean selection, roasting, espresso skills :) Delicious cake too :) Open the door of fine coffee ! If coffee is good, sugar or milk is not needed ;) The Spirit of terroir-wine, tea, coffee and cocoa @thespiritofterroir @thespiritofterroirblog

it overcame all my expectations! i really liked the atmosphere and the beverages. i tried an aeropress, and my friend took a cappuccino. i liked how baristas know their work, do everything quickly, and can consult you on every coffee question. i enjoyed the conversation with barista, when we were choosing which beans to try for aeropress. it felt like barista was enjoying the convo as well. you’re big professionals! to notice, it’s my first coffee shop in germany so far, where they serve water.

It is always good to find a nice coffee place in a new city. @Kaffeekommune is the place in Mainz.

If I had to define it I would call it a very hipstery place where the coffee takes centre stage. Decent selection of beans from different provenances, and available also as aeropress (not easy to find!).

The seating is comfortable enough, tables have space for the coffee and breakfast but not much more. Cool low key design with old memorabilia scattered around, without feeling cluttered. Music is atmospheric.

They also serve breakfast which is good, and even though the portions are small, the price is right. On the plus side they serve freshly baked scones!! If they find clotted cream I will raise this review to 5 stars.

The service is friendly, and relaxed, but since the breakfast is prepared fresh, and there are several coffee varieties on offer, it can be a little slow if one comes in rush hour. That said, it is worth the wait.

Ultimately is all about the coffee, and it is good.

P.S. - I did not need to, but at least the Barista is an English speaker, if any expat out there needs to...
