I have been a dedicated patron of Losteria restaurant for several years, frequently visiting the Künstlerhaus branch in Munich. Over time, it became my go-to spot for delightful meals and gatherings, often organizing our clinic events there with my team and we spent approximately 5K euro during three years. However, my recent visit on 05.02.2024 to the Künstlerhaus branch in Munich has left me deeply disheartened and disillusioned with the establishment. Upon arrival at 17:15 for a reserved table, my friend and I were met with unprofessional and aggressive behavior from the restaurant manager, Mr. Eric. Despite having a prior arrangement with another staff member, Mr. Yousof, to wait for a specific table, Mr. Eric rudely denied us access, citing an alleged reservation for a birthday party. Despite our efforts to reason with Mr. Eric and explain the prior agreement, he remained obstinate and refused to listen to our side of the story. His demeanor was intimidating, and he even went so far as to threaten the waitstaff with termination if they served us. Throughout this distressing ordeal, I felt utterly humiliated and disrespected by Mr. Eric's conduct. What made matters worse was that we had patiently waited for that particular table for one hour and fifteen minutes. Despite the intervention of the restaurant's chief, Mr. Andre, and our eventual seating, the damage to our evening had already been done. We were unable to enjoy our meal due to the hostile environment created by Mr. Eric's actions. If the table was truly reserved for a birthday party, why did Mr. Yousof not inform us of this when we arrived? When we arrived, we specifically asked Mr. Yousof if the table had any special reservations after the current customers, and he assured us that it did not. Therefore, it was surprising and confusing when Mr. Eric suddenly claimed that the table had a birthday reservation. This inconsistency raises questions about the professionalism and management of the situation. As someone who was previously satisfied with Losteria, evidenced by my positive review from two years ago (which I plan to attach), I am deeply disappointed by this recent experience. Regrettably, I cannot continue to patronize an establishment that condones such unprofessional behavior from its employees. Therefore, I and my team members have made the decision to discontinue our visits to Losteria indefinitely. In conclusion, I urge the management of Losteria to address the concerning behavior and take proactive steps to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future. As it stands, I cannot in good conscience recommend Losteria to others based on my...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews, but I feel the need to share what happened today because it left me both embarrassed and disappointed.
My boyfriend and I visited L’Osteria on a Saturday evening. As expected, the place was packed, but even more frustrating was the lack of guidance upon arrival. When we entered, no staff member greeted us or explained anything, so we tried to find a seat by ourselves. There was no visible queue inside, so we assumed the line outside was only for the outdoor area. After a few minutes of looking around, we finally caught the attention of a waitress who asked us to wait in line. The whole experience from the beginning felt confusing and unwelcoming.
Eventually, we were seated—but the tables were placed so close to each other that it was nearly impossible to move comfortably. While I was trying to get into my seat, I accidentally knocked over a bottle from the neighboring table with my small backpack without even realizing it. The bottle spilled (possibly alcohol) and unfortunately stained the dress of the woman sitting next to us. I immediately apologized several times and gave her tissues, doing my best to fix the situation.
What made it worse:
No staff member came to help or even noticed the situation. The tight layout clearly caused the accident, not carelessness. We left the restaurant feeling very uncomfortable, and outside, the woman confronted us and demanded we pay for the spilled drink. My boyfriend kindly went back and paid just to keep things calm, even though this was not entirely our fault. The whole experience left me feeling extremely stressed and disappointed, especially as a tourist. Maybe it’s a cultural difference, I don’t know—but both the staff and the German guest were unexpectedly rude, and I didn’t expect such treatment here.
Still, I want to say once more: I’m truly sorry to the woman. I didn’t do this intentionally—it happened simply because the seating space was badly designed.
I hope L’Osteria takes responsibility for:
Improving staff visibility and guest guidance Fixing the dangerously tight seating Supporting guests with empathy in unexpected situations

Read moreThis evening my family and I went to celebrate my mother's 51st birthday at your restaurant Leopoldstraße. We had booked a table beforehand at 18:00 and upon arrival, our table was not ready and we had to wait a further 15 minutes.
When offered drinks by the manager, my sister asked him what drinks were on the menu, and he responded in a very patrionising way. "Have you never been here before?" with a smirk on his face. This comment was totally unnecessary and was not funny.
We were then given a table at the back of the restaurant and after another 30 minute wait, a waitress came and took our order. At this point, we were in the restaurant for nearly an hour without any food.
Another 20 minutes later, we were then given our starter. Within this time, other customers arrived at the restaurant, had their orders taken, and already had food and drink, while we were still waiting for ours.
30 minutes after that, there was still no sign of our main dish, while other customers who had come in afterwards were enjoying theirs.
It is important to note that all the customers that had already received their food were of caucasian decent. We, from an ethnic background, were in the minority and felt totally neglected and sensed that there was discrimination in the air, otherwise why did we not recieve our food earlier?
We were very disappointed, and had tried to express our dissatisfaction to another waiter, as we were completely ignored by our original one. Everyone who works at L'Osteria represents the restaurant, so saying "I am not your waiter, I can't help you anymore" is simply not acceptable. No one showed any empathy or concern to the lack of service we received.
If you are a person of colour and want to come to this restaurant, be prepared to wait and have other people around you enjoy their food, while you...
