Stoa Allios: Hooked on Athens' Finest Seafood 🦐

It was our last evening in Athens, and we were in search of a great seafood spot without breaking the bank. Our tour guide suggested Stoa Allios, just a short walk from our hotel. The restaurant looked inviting with its bright facade, so we decided to give it a try.

Inside, a friendly host greeted us and seated us by a window with a nice view. He quickly offered us drinks as we checked out the menu. We ended up ordering calamari, sea bass, prawns, and risotto to share, and everything came out in hearty portions that easily fed the four of us.

The food was delicious—each dish was spot on. The calamari was tender, the sea bass was cooked just right, and the prawns were juicy and flavorful. The risotto was creamy and paired perfectly with the seafood. We enjoyed every bite so much that we cleaned our plates without hesitation.

Our waiter was thrilled to see us enjoy the meal and surprised us with a complimentary dessert, which was a sweet ending to our night in Athens. It was such a nice touch that made our evening even more memorable.

Stoa Allios not only impressed us with its great food but also with its friendly service and cozy atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to coming back here on my next trip...

Precious oasis in loud, hectic Athens! We can highly recommend this wonderful little restaurant in the middle of Athens - pleasant air-conditioning (you do neither freeze nor get a stiff neck), a quiet peaceful atmosphere, an extremely friendly young man doing the service (Superman Stefanos :-)) and - most important for a restaurant - delicious Greek food. Everything is super fresh, taste is profound, prices very reasonable. We even got a free dessert - a delicious baked apple, next day fresh watermelon. You will not regret to choose that place. We can highly recommend it and went there several times...

We had mussels with wine and lemon, boiled potatoes salads, grilled octopus, and grilled seabass.

The seabass was amazing and tender, the mussels were good, and the sauce had inside a pinch of mosterd which in my opinion was perfect! I personally mixed half octopus with the boiled potatoes salad, as i love the combination and also that, of course was amazing.

Half liter house wine, that went down really easy, the sea's house athmosphere, and the small ice cream at the end, completed an amazing lunch!!

10/10 ! Well done guys ♥️ we are full, and happy to roll back to the hotel for the...

This is our second time visiting. Fortunately, the food was a lot better than our first visit on April 2024. This is a nice option for seafood in the bustling city center. Prices are reasonable and the while food does take a while, the food is fresh and the service is friendly. Among the tourist traps that can be found in all of the center, this is one of the eateries that locals frequent and tourists can find true value in great food and pricing. We enjoyed the grilled sea bass, fried cod and calamari.

The fava was well made with a pleasant texture, but it needed stronger seasoning to really shine. The red mullet was simple, fresh and well prepared. Prices were fair. Service was honest – the waiter answered directly when I asked which fish and seafood were fresh and which were frozen, and I truly appreciated that. Overall, the place seems to have more to offer and is worth further visits.
