Located very close to the Acropolis Hill and in the cozy locality of Erechthiou, this restaurant is hard to miss because of its inviting vibe. The decor of the restaurant gives you the feeling of a quintessential European eatery with some seating on the curbside.
We tried the pork souvlaki and undoubtedly it was prepared for more than 1 person. The portion size for me at least was way too much to consume in 1 sitting. Nevertheless, I powered through and ate the extremely well roasted pork sausage along with the fresh tzatziki. We also tried mussels with tomato gravy and it was lip smacking. This was my first time trying mussels and I'm glad that I got a their version in my hands. Tangy gravy with silky soft mussels just made my day. To top everything off, came the spectacular greek yoghurt with fruit toppings. It was the perfect dessert on a hot day in Athens and culminated our meal on a superb note.
The staff at the restaurant was very welcoming. The only thing that surprised me was them telling me to move the standing fan on our table by myself. I didn't mind doing it but that was a bit unusual to see that the diner is being asked to make...

El Greco Pastry Shop is a true gem for anyone with a sweet tooth and a love for authentic Greek desserts. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and the irresistible aroma of freshly baked pastries.
Everything we tried was absolutely delicious—made with care, tradition, and top-quality ingredients. The selection was impressive, and each item tasted like a homemade treat straight from a Greek kitchen. Whether it was flaky baklava, creamy galaktoboureko, or any of their other specialties, every bite was pure joy.
The service was exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in its craft and values its customers. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes.
We loved it so much, and next time we’re in Greece—especially in Athens—El Greco will be one of our first stops. It’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression and a craving to come back.
Tasso and family from Canada thank you for the sweet memories and the...

My wife and I had breakfast here while we were waiting for our check-in time at a nearby hotel. Being tired from the whole airport process, we did not want to venture out too much and decided to settle and eat here.
My wife ordered the eggs benedict. When it came out, it did not look at all like an eggs benedict. It was two pieces of toast bread with a piece of ham and poached eggs on top. The hollandaise sauce did not taste good, it tasted more like mustard than anything else. They had included bacon on the side as well, but the bacon just looked sad and unappetizing.
I ordered pancakes with eggs. It did not taste good. The syrup that was on it did not taste right with the pancakes.
The only thing that was OK was the fresh squeezed orange juice, but it was not cold.
It felt like this restaurant makes a very lazy attempt to prepare and make sure their food is going to taste good.
The orange juice and the drinks totalled 21.50 euros. I do not recommend eating at this place. Trust me, walk a little further and try a different...
