After a long search for the perfect restaurant to end our vacation with we found this restaurants and it looked perfect. It was not possible to make a online reservation with e-table but I called the hotel it was placed in and I could make a reservation anyway, very happy! It it located at the balcony of the hotel with a view of the akropolis. It opens only at 1930 so as tourists, expect to eat at greek eating times. In the end of the evening it was full of people, it seemd to be a populair place to be having a drink as well. We were seated on a nice table and got the menus. The staff helped us decide on how to order (sharing is best). The menu is very to the point with not too many options but this is fine with us. We decided on ordering all the starts with a tuna salad. Enjoyed/loved all of them! Greek food with a modern twist. My personal favorite was the tuna salad starter. As main dishes 3 people had the amberjack. They loved it! still talking about it. 2 people had the chicken, enjoyed it as well. I had the beef fillet. Very good!! The dessert we choose was the Zante Fritters. Very nice taste, but the portion is a bit too big with a loot of fruit. Many share this one! They take the wine you order and put it next to the table but they will refill your glass when they feel like you are running out of it. I would be nice if they asked if we would like a refill.. One of the staff wanted to serve us a bit too fast. She was taking plates from the table (main dish) while one p. was still eating. But overall very nice experience, we have been there a vew hours and had...
Read moreOverhyped, UNDER delivered. Where do I even begin. We ordered 1 appetizer to share, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks from the bar. The tomato fritters tasted like they could have been microwaved. Very gummy and dense. The entrees had a good flavor, but the portions left much to be desired. Not to mention the price point. Last, and probably my biggest gripe, the drinks. We were given glorified shot glasses for the margarita and aviator gin cocktail. They could have easily been consumed in 2 sips. I was so confused considering they were over €20 so I asked our waiter, George, why they were so small when we could see normal servings on the bar. He tried to tell me that our drinks had the same quantity, it was just that our glasses didn’t have ice so it looked like less. Mind you the drink on the bar I was referring to was a cosmopolitan which doesn’t have ice and even fewer ingredients than the drink I ordered. George then proceeded to laugh in our faces and stand uncomfortably close to our table. We could not have an honest discussion or feel ok about our meal. If the service had been faster, we would have been in and out of there within 30 minutes. The cherry on top is that the “Acropolis Views” also leave much to be desired. The back of the Acropolis is still beautiful, but definitely not worth the near €100 wasted. George also had the nerve to ask for a tip multiple times (servers in Greece are salaried and he 100% did not go above and beyond). Good luck with that buddy. Save your money and go to a place with better views, better food, and MUCH...
Read moreAWESOME. If you want to go to a really nice place, go to the POINT a restaurant. What an absolute gem of a place. First and foremost, I'd like to say how WONDERFUL the manager, Andreas, was. A super friendly person with a fantastic attention to detail (he was lining up tables and table cutlery) and helpful with the entire dining experience. The rest of the staff was also very good, but Andreas really stood out. I visited the restaurant twice, once for the bar menu and once for the table menu (reservations required). Both times were excellent, and the food was as superb as the view (you have beautiful view of the Acropolis). My only small issue was a lot of the food has dairy in it so it was a bit challenging to find non-dairy based choices but there were some choices. The view of the Acropolis just can't be beat, and people were taking photos all night long. Also, the music was very good as there was jazz and big band type music, which really set the mood for the place. The bar area is set back from the table area and has its own seating, including some very comfy benches and chairs. I can't think of a better way to end a day in Athens, hanging out at the POINT a, drinking and eating. What a...
