Μεσογειακό Mediterranean Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

We went to this place as the outside area looked pretty and also the reviews here were positive. However, in comparison to every other restaurant we've been to this was just disappointing. When we sat down they brought us dry rests of bread without anything - no oil, no dips. So we ordered an appetizer of cheese and spicy tomato sauce to use the bread. This was good. But afterwards everything was bad: I ordered the stuffed squid. The squid was burnt and stuffed so much that it was difficult to taste anything else besides Feta even if it would have been grilled nicely. Also ordered the seabass which had good parts, but was raw on the inside. The couscous it came with was no couscous but shredded vegetables. The dessert was a panacotta but had stones in it (dont know what that was maybe sugar or gelatine but obviously wasnt meant to be like this). We came across this restaurant by chance and stopped off as the garden looked so inviting. The mushroom risotto was by far the best mushroom risotto I have ever eaten - and I've eaten many. Extremely generous helping of a variety of mushrooms - not the few and far between you have to search for in a stodgy rice bowl. And you could actually taste the truffel oil - delicious. It have a beautiful garden with a huge beautiful pink bouganvillea, with plenty of space for the tables. The menu is rather simple, not too many choices, but smart ones 😉.We had Cretan fresh pasta ( huge) and slow cooked veal with vegetables in ceramic pot. Very tasty indeed !
