Me and my friends went to this restaurant on our vacation, we chose it because it looked good (menu looked good, atmosphere etc). When we got a table I went to bathroom which is up a narrow staircase. On my way down a person who worked there was running toward the stairs, I moved out of the way and apologised, her response was a sigh and eye roll. I shrugged it off and went to sit down at the table. We ordered our food and a few minutes after we realised we forgot to order water. We track down the same waiter from the stairs and ask for water. About 10 minutes go by, no water. We ask another waiter and he tells us she never put the order for water in. The new waiter didn’t apologise and even cleared a table before bringing us water. 40 minutes later we still haven’t gotten our food, they tell us we ordered a lot of food and we asked that everything should be brought at the same time (we wanted to eat it all together and not have cold food). However about 20 minutes later they start to bring the food out (not all at once and most of the food is cold). The shrimp we ordered was watered down and tasteless so we sent it back. The response was “well everybody likes this so why don’t you?”. We said it doesn’t like anything and asked them to take it. Our meat dish was wrong, no chicken like in the picture and so on. Overall the food was not great, some of the dishes were good but overall disappointing. After we sent the dish back all of the waiters started to avoid our table, they wouldn’t look our way, didn’t ask if liked the rest of the food, didn’t start clearing the table once we finished. Some of the waiters even stood behind our table laughing and looking our way. We asked to pay 3 times before finally getting someone’s attention. We paid and then complained about experience. We got somewhat of an apology for the behaviour of the other waiters but it was also a very defensive attitude and they told us we should have said something sooner. We told them we did and we tried again, it’s very hard to tell someone something or get someone’s attention when they are actively avoiding you. Overall this was not a good experience and definitely not worth the...

I never ate at this restaurant, but this was the closest I could get to leaving a review for Eleni’s souvenir shop directly next door.

Eleni, if you see this, thank you for your friendliness and hospitality, and for our many long conversations about current and past global affairs! They are super interesting and you taught me a lot. You are a total sweetheart and a true representation of the warmth of the Greek people. Take care of yourself (and most importantly, your back) and I’ll look forward to seeing you next year! 😊

A visit to Eleni’s souvenir shop is a must. There are a wide variety of options available at affordable prices, and Eleni and her sister are super kind...

The manager Costas was friendly and helpful. A big picture based menu to help tourists/non-greek speakers understand what everything was. Hearty servings that won’t leave you hungry. Quality food, we had the dakos, there were good, not great. Greek salad was really good. Fresh sea bass served as a whole fish with your choice of potato side or rice was very tasty and clearly fresh. They finish off with a little desert on the house and a shot of Raki or Ouzo. Nice, shaded, breezy place to keep cool while also aesthetically pleasing with a nature feel. All in all a nice place to eat at “not gouging...

Picked on a whim for Breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Nice comfortable shaded seats, selection was good, I went for the Orange and honey pancakes plus fresh orange juice and Greek coffee. Service wasn’t the quickest but about the norm for Greece and likewise you didn’t feel rushed to finish up and get out so they could reuse the table. Pancakes were excellent, orange juice as far as I could tell was freshly squeezed and the coffee good. Price was reasonable for a sit down cafe and they took card without issue.

Great personnel, with what I presume is the owner on top of mind. He was about all the time, chatting, preparing tables, and so on. While reading the menu, the kids were served drawing pencils and their paper underlays. Typically appreciated while dining with kids. Even no problem switching a kiwi juice my daughter regrettably did not fancy to another one. That is a mind for service I don't take for granted. Food was good, but foremost the setting in a Greek alley in Chania was just what I sought.
