Elia Potie — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

I booked to Elia Potie in Chania and I called the day before to ask for a shuttle from the airport to the hotel (the hotel offered this service). I asked for the driver to have a POS so I pay with a credit card. A driver came at the airport, he was nice but did not have POS because nobody from the hotel informed him about it. Thus, I had to walk with him around the city to a taxi place where his partner had the POS to pay.||At the hotel and during my check in I was informed that my breakfast will not be served at my hotel but in another hotel 300 meters away. I complained because this was not written in the description of the room/hotel. Then, I had to walk with my suitcase to the hotel I booked (the check in was at the hotel where breakfast was served). When I arrived I found out that there is no elevator and I had to carry my luggage upstairs which was not possible because I broke my hand a few months ago (see pictures). I called the reception of the hotel and they told me that they do not offer groom service. I went to the room and left the suitcase downstairs. I informed the reception that either they should arrange so the suitcase is carried to my room or offer me a free cancellation. Moreover the room had a bad smell...I do not know if it is humidity or the smell from the bathroom... I also asked for a room change afterwards. The manager refused through the receptionist to offer me a free cancellation or change me room. The only thing the reception did was to send a person to carry my suitcase to my room afte two hours. Moreover, the room is above a bar and there is music playing until one a.m. Terrible experience, I do not recommend this hotel chain to anyone. The management is UNPROFESSIONAL and offer NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!||Of course I informed Hotels.com immediately and they were trying to find the manager but...

Elia hotel was recommended by the University we are visiting, we had a workshop in the city and the location of this hotel, plus the price, were the most suitable for us. But you get what you pay for, they provide driving water only on the first day, the reception is on a different building, and there is no telephone line between the buildings, so if you have any issues, and you funny have a Greek phone, you will have to make an international call from your phone to talk to the reception, one of my colleagues found a cockroach in her room, she had an issue with electricity as well, she couldn't leave the room since her hair was wet, so she had to make a phone call costing her around 5USD to talk to the reception. And what was their answer: it is late at night, we can't do anything about it, and cockroaches are flying insects, we can't control them!! The location is great, only if you don't mind the noise of the street. The place itself is very noisy, I could hear the noises coming from the rooms next to me... I didn't recommend this place, I am sure you will be able to find a better deal, I am not coming back here...

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo albergo per 4 notti a ferragosto e vorrei spiegare il perché abbia dato questo titolo a questa recensione. In precedenza eravamo state prima ad Elounda, poi ad Agia Galini in delle strutture alberghiere meravigliose dove avevamo un appartamento carinissimo, una vista superba, la piscina, tanta natura, parcheggio interno e tanto spazio. Tutto ciò ad un prezzo anche inferiore ad Elia Potie Studios per lo stesso numero di notti. Arrivate qui ci è preso un colpo. Certo, Chania è una città piuttosto grande ed è vero che volevamo alloggiare nel centro storico. Purtroppo avevamo una camera standard (abbiamo visto anche quella superior ed era decisamente più vivibile) e ci è sembrata soffocante, piccola, con un balcone stretto dove non sapere neanche dove stendere costumi e parei se non adagiarli sulle sedie e che affacciava su un palazzo in rovina. La camera era, anche se al secondo piano, buia, con un arredo in tinte scure, pareti grigie e verdi, il bagno senza finestra, un letto enorme, anche se bellissimo e comodissimo, che occupava quasi tutta la camera e non sapevamo neanche dove aprire e lasciare le valigie. Insomma, probabilmente il mio giudizio è condizionato dal confronto con le due precedenti sistemazioni, ma questo confronto non ci ha fatto piacere questo albergo. Tra l'altro non c'è ascensore e trascinarsi per due piani la pesante valigia, senza nessun aiuto da parte dell'antipatica receptionist del vicino Elia Botolo a cui bisogna rivolgersi per avere la stanza, mi ha addirittura causato la rottura di alcuni capillari della mano. Per fortuna quando siamo andate via la donna delle pulizie, più gentile, mi ha aiutato a portare la valigia giù. Inoltre è vero che la sera i bar sottostanti si riempiono di giovani che fanno un baccano infernale fino a tardi. Io ho dormito con i tappi alle orecchie. La camera è dotata di macchina per il caffè, ma le due capsule in dotazione che abbiamo consumato il primo giorno, non sono mai state sostituite (?). Ultima nota dolente il parcheggio. Se avete l'auto vi dico subito che ad agosto non è facilissimo trovarne uno vicino e occhio ai cartelli, perché molte strade sono riservate ai residenti o sono a pagamento. L'hotel è in una zona pedonale, quindi lì non ci si arriva in auto. Posso consigliare, una volta arrivati in centro, di imboccare una via che si chiama Daskalogianni, che è quella transitabile più vicina all'hotel. Qui si può parcheggiare solo sulla destra, perché il lato sinistro è riservato ai residenti. Non è facilissimo trovare parcheggio in questa via, ma non impossibile, specialmente non di sera. Se non trovate posto qui, andate verso destra e raggiungete un'altra via che si chiama Minoos. Lì è più facile purché non arriviate di sera, perché la sera in genere si trova posto solo nelle vicinanze dell'Hotel Kriti. Vi do anche un'altra informazione per imboccare Daskalogianni. Quando arrivate a Chania dalla National Road andate sempre dritto, finchè noterete davanti a voi un palazzetto giallo che è il mercato, l'Agorà. Lì girate a destra e poi al secondo semaforo a sinistra e imboccate Daskalogianni. Ritornando all'Elia Potie, se devo trovare qualcosa di positivo, a parte la posizione centrale, la stanza è arredata in modo moderno e carino come da boutique hotel, ma è...
