Grease Monkey Budapest — Restaurant in Budapest

Well, we liked the place, especially the owners that are very nice people so we felled very welcome. The place's clean and design is unique. As a reviewer I must say that I noticed that bringing animals to the restaurant is acceptable so we encountered few nice dogs (This fact may be uncomfortable to some guests so I found it right to mention it). One weak point relates to the food. Although the the amounts were very satisfying, I cannot say I found it so tasteful, but, it can be due to my personal taste, so I can recommend to give the restaurant a try. Also, unlike other Budapest restaurants, this one doesn't auto charge you with 10% percent tip (which annoyed me a lot), so I decided to tip them...

One of the best pubs anywhere, not just in Budapest. Awesome theme, a mix between post apocalyptic and Sci Fi (think Fallout meets Star Wars) with everything from drinks to light switches being on brand. Great selection of drinks, original cocktails and tasty finger food (XL portions), all reasonably priced and backed by a lovely and helpful lady bartender and the owner who doubles as the cook who built the place from scratch and definitely gave the place it's unique character. It's a crime that this establishment is not listed in any of the "best guides" to the city. Make yourself a favor and visit the Grease Monkey if you are in town, I guarantee it's an experience...

I was sceptical that this place might be a little bit corny. Let me assure you all of the interior decoration work is actually really very well done. When I read "steampunk" I fear there's going to be superfluous gears and springs just glued to stuff, but I can honestly say this atmosphere is easily as science fiction as it is steampunk. The owner did all of the decoration work himself and is a nice guy, and you can get pretty good beer on the cheap.
