We have arrived at the restaurant after reading recommendations and we arrived with great anticipation after booking a table in advance. We sat down in the lower room (not on the entrance floor). For a first course we ordered empanadas and a carpaccio dish. After 45 minutes the dishes arrived! The empanadas arrived in 3 units, two units looked the same and the third one looked small and shriveled and simply did not belong to the plate and I don't understand how the chef brought out such a dish - it is surprising to receive such a dish from such a restaurant. The carpaccio was a good dish, the size was good, but, in my opinion it lacked balsamic vinegar and maybe Parmesan - but I respect the way it was served and the emphasis on the taste of the meat. After we finished the first courses - the table was not cleaned and there were a lot of crumbs left, the cutlery was taken away (at that moment I didn't think it was a problem). After another 40 minutes!, the main dish arrived - La Pampa steak 550 grams plus French fries. We did not receive suitable cutlery and we ate with the cutlery left on the table (there was no one to ask either), we did not receive coarse salt and ground pepper. When we asked for ketchup for the French fries (that was very small dish) - we got it at the end of the meal - The meat was good and done according what we've ordered. We didn't stay for dessert - the experience was enough for us. The time to pay was fast. In conclusion: Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The service is slow and cumbersome, as a customer I felt disappointed by the level of service, table cleanliness, dish's visibility and quality. Serious restaurants wouldn't have the guts to put out such dishes (referring to the empanadas dish). As a person who admire good steakhouses, and I went to eat in places like Bariloche in Argentina and Dario's in Italy and so more - this restaurant feels like a tourist trap and I don't understand what the enthusiasm is about. Went for Christmas dinner. We arrived and the place was quiet, the lady at the front looked so angry but seated us. Our server was nice and took our orders and everything was fine up to that point. We got our appetizers and it was good, we finished that and they took way longer than expected to bring our our main dishes. Probably like an hour to an hour and a half. As we sat there they weren’t very attentive to see that we were in need of more water or to check on us. One of the servers was walking around a coughing every time he passed. When our plates arrived we noticed one of the meats was the wrong order, the server was denying it. We accepted it anyways, then they came back after 15 minutes and told us they had actually switched the tables plates, meaning they confused who’s plate belonged to who. Which was also not true because we had ordered 2 ribeyes and there was only one, and the other meats. The meat is low quality, you can tell it is a frozen slab that was just defrosted, no flavor to it except a hint of salt, and dry as well. The rump steak was just pure tendon and chewy cartilage. The tenderloin dry and no flavor. The ribeye was ok, had some natural flavor but chewy. Very bad quality meats, I’ve had better meats cuts at cheaper prices. We finished our meal and got out of there. Only 2 stars because the appetizers were good and our server was nice. Everything else was bad, meats were bad, our server wasn’t attentive to us, and another server was coughing all over the place, the greeter was clearly in a bad mood too, atmosphere was no good place seemed to awkward. We went as a group of 3 and had one of our best steak restaurant experiences in La Pampa.

As we arrived, the friendly waiter sat us at a larger table with another free space to place our bags. We soon ordered our drinks including 2 Pina Coladas and 1 Mojito. The Cocktails tasted authentic and they paired well with the appetizer.

We had freshly cooked Empanadas and shrimp for appetizers, which both exceeded our expectations. Afterward, we were really looking forward to the main course.

Our main course consisted of an Australian Wagyu (Rib-eye & medium-rare) and a thicker Argentinian Sirloin (medium-rare) cut. The intermuscular fat was just perfect for the ribeye and the meat flavor proved its quality. The Sirloin on the other hand, even though not comparable to the Australian Wagyu, had a stronger beef flavor and filled our stomachs.

The sides we chose were garlic mashed potatoes, cream spinach, and asparagus. They were great choices for the fatty steak and even provided a different flavor profile paired with the steaks.

Finally, we ended our meal with the La Pampa cheesecake, and a chocolate brownie paired with vanilla ice cream. Both were well presented and all the components paired well with each other. The hot brownie with the ice cream matched perfectly well and the cheesecake had fruits and jam that improved the overall experience of the desserts.

To conclude, I'd come back again for both the service and food quality. It might be rather expensive, but it's worth...

Vi besøker Pampa steakhouse hver gang vi er i Budapest fordi vi oppriktig mener det er et av, hvis ikke det beste, biffstedet i byen. Da vi besøkte restauranten i går ble vi dessverre litt skuffet sammenlignet med tidligere besøk. Vi hadde bordreservasjon klokken 20:00 pm. Jeg anbefaler absolutt å booke bord på forhånd da man faktisk kan ende opp med å ikke få bord fordi det er fult. Jeg selv bestilte Tenderloin Trio som består av biff fra tre ulike land - Ungarn, Argentina med angus og Australia med den verdenskjente Wagyu. Den siste er absolutt best, men man skal heller ikke undervurdere den australske. Jeg anbefaler absolutt denne dersom du skal teste ut La Pampas for første gang. Da får du mye for pengene, prøve ulike biffer og muligheten til å finne ut av hva du liker best. I går var kjøttet helt perfekt tilbredt og det smeltet i munnen. En annen i selskapet valgte å bestille Australsk Wagyu Tenderloin Steak som falt veldig i smak. Her var kjøttet perfekt tilbredt med akkurat riktig mengde steketid. To i selskapet ønsket å bestille Kobe og bestilte 200g Kobe Tenderloin Steak for 49.900.-Ft. Dette er bare en brøkdel av prisen sammenlignet med andre land, men når man bestiller kjøtt til denne prisen er også forventningene store. I forkant av serveringen kommer servitøren ut med Kobe-biffene på en fjøl. Vi stusset litt på utseende til disse da de ble servert, blant annet fordi vi har spist Kobe-biff på denne restauranten tidligere. Da Kobe-biffene blir servert oppdager vi raskt at de ikke er tilbredt slik som ønsket, nemlig medium-rare. Vi huker raskt tak i servitøren og viser frem den ene Kobe-biffen. Hun er veldig hyggelig og tilbyr seg med engang og sende den tilbake og tilberede en ny, antageligvis fordi hun selv så at denne var altfor godt stekt. Dette takker vi ja til. Vi ender opp med å sende tilbake en Kobe-biff, mens den andre personen i selskapet som bestilte denne velger å spise den. Vi andre spiser maten vår mens den er varm i god tro om at maten til siste person straks skal dukke opp. Det gjør den aldri. Servitøren kommer aldri tilbake til bordet for å spørre om maten smakte godt, informere om at den nye Kobe-biffen snart er på vei eller annet. Hun er helt fraværende i tiden etter at vi gir beskjed og er ikke å se i vår del av resturanten. Etter 20 minutters tid får endelig siste personen maten sin, men da er vi andre godt som ferdige. Fordi alle siderettene som potetmos, saus og stekte grønnsaker nå er kalde tenker vi at servitøren skal ta bestilling av en ny runde. Det ender opp med at vi må bestille ekstra sideretter som er varme, men at vi får en siderett med asparges. For å nevne siderettene er potetmosen med hvitløk, green pepper saus og potetbåter å anbefale. Det andre vi smakte som green mixed salat, grillede grønnsaker, fries, Pampa SteakHouse sause (BBQ) og Chimichurri helt greit, men ikke noe mer. Jeg nevnte tidligere at vi stusset på utseende til Kobe-biffene og mistanken om at vi hadde fått noe annet ble styrket da det lå igjen en stor remse med fett på tallerken til begge som hadde bestilt Kobe (se bilde). Vi har som sagt spist Kobe før og vet at dette ikke skal være tilfelle. I vinlisten deres hadde de ingen italienske viner som er litt merkelig på et slikt biffsted. Mye mulig har avtalen etter covid endret seg, eller de har valgt å ta inn andre viner. Vi valgte en tung Argentinsk vin sammen med servitøren som passet godt til maten. Alt i alt, en veldig god matopplevelse, men både tilberedelsen av Kobe-biffene og servicen i etterkant av at vi sendte tilbake den ene Kobe-biffen trekker ned. Vi håper på å komme tilbake neste år for en bedre opplevelse da vi som nevnt har vært veldig veldig fornøyd tidligere!

La Pampa Steakhouse truly serves quality cuts of meat! The beef was flavorful, and the tenderloins were incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth. My favorites were the U.S. and Australian cuts, which were cooked to perfection. The Hungarian cut, however, had some connective tissue that made it a bit less enjoyable. The Hungarian-style beef tartare was also very nice, though I usually expect an egg yolk on top. Regardless, I still enjoyed it. The chicken wings were tasty and came with plenty of sauce, while the prime cut U.S. fillet was equally delicious. The waitstaff were polite, and we appreciated the calm atmosphere, as the restaurant was nearly empty. However, we did feel a bit rushed toward the end of our meal. The staff turned off the music, which felt like a subtle hint for us to leave. We understood they might have wanted to close early due to the low number of diners, so we asked for the bill and left. Overall, I had a great dining experience, though perhaps they could consider a gentler approach if they need to close early when the restaurant is quiet.

La Pampa Steakhouse truly serves quality cuts of meat! The beef was flavorful, and the tenderloins were incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth. My favorites were the U.S. and Australian cuts, which were cooked to perfection. The Hungarian cut, however, had some connective tissue that made it a bit less enjoyable. The Hungarian-style beef tartare was also very nice, though I usually expect an egg yolk on top. Regardless, I still enjoyed it. The chicken wings were tasty and came with plenty of sauce, while the prime cut U.S. fillet was equally delicious. The waitstaff were polite, and we appreciated the calm atmosphere, as the restaurant was nearly empty. However, we did feel a bit rushed toward the end of our meal. The staff turned off the music, which felt like a subtle hint for us to leave. We understood they might have wanted to close early due to the low number of diners, so we asked for the bill and left.
