I recently ordered Chicken Tikka, Mutton Biryani, Dal Makhani, and Dal from this restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.
Chicken Tikka: It was clear this was not freshly prepared in a tandoor. Instead, it seemed to have been cooked the day before and simply reheated in an oven before serving. The dish lacked authenticity, and the plate was unnecessarily greasy—something you wouldn’t expect if it had been tandoor-cooked.
Mutton Biryani: This was the most disappointing dish. The rice used was substandard, resembling regular market rice instead of the aromatic and flavorful rice expected in biryani. There was no use of authentic biryani spices, and the rice was artificially colored to give the appearance of biryani. Moreover, the meat was simply boiled without any salt, spices, or other ingredients, making it completely flavorless.
Dal Makhani: The taste was equally poor, lacking the richness and creaminess that this dish typically has.
On a positive note, the serving service was satisfactory, but it couldn’t compensate for the subpar food quality.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic and...
Read moreI read the reviews and i wanted to try the food but was hugely disappointed. I orderes Samosas and Chicken Karahi and they were really bad. Samosas were heated up so much they were hard as a stone. Karahi chicken was tastless. The food is nowhere near indian/pakistani food. I don't understand how this place has 4.3 rating. Most probably reviews are by Hungarian/European customers who have no clue what Indian/pakistani food taste like. Chicken karahi had so much coloring and so many tomatoes and was trash (look at the pictures) Only great thing is good service by Ruma. Ruma is very nice and friendly. The food was really spicy and she kept asking me if it's spicy she can have chicken karahi made again but i asked her to just give me yogurt and she was very kind to bring me the yogurt. Overall a very disappointed experience except the service by Ruma. I dont recommend it. Avoid! 2 stars because of Ruma's...
Read moreI been working in Budapest for many years & know the area well. I'm a curry addict & know a good curry when I get one. Budapest has a few fairly good curry houses but I think this is the best authentic curry you'll get here. It's set in a simplistic cafe type surroundings but it's good & also the cheapest. Been hear many many times now. It's also the only place that recognise a Vinderloo as a hot curry & not a mild curry with potatoes!!! But, it's a little sour/Sharper taste, not the same as just an increase in chilly heat. If your like me, ask for a chicken curry but ask for spicy & it will still be milder than a Madras for sure, but still good.
I've returned after 3 years and it's got even better. It's now an even more busy popular place. A good sign/reassurance, if it's busy then it...
