I haven't been a guest of Esprit Hotel. My brother and his wife were - are - just checked in. But before he had a chance to build his own impression of it and the room/location, I had a pleasure to communicate with the owner/manager and his partner,, calling them from US, trying to set up a surprise welcome package for my brother's Birthday he came to celebrate to Budapest, first time. Not only my request to purchase few items was not dismissed - and I would understand if it was so - after all, there are only 3 people on 24hr duty, and they multi-function for guests - it was received with understanding and a prompt readiness to help. All three persons I communicated with are fluent in English, so it was no problem to get my point/request across (for us, Americans, it is important to be understood when we travel the globe). It was just a day before my brother's arrival, when I contacted the manager first time, and the next day when I called to pay, I was told that the gift has been placed in the room already , waiting for their check-in, and even a greeting note I made and emailed, was printed out and placed on a stand near it. I was extremely pleased and touched with not one - but "several" miles, this small hotel managers/receptionist were willing to walk for me, to make my brother and his wife to feel special on their special day. I have no doubts that with attention to such an out of ordinary and out of their direct responsibility request from a stranger this team has no problem to perform their direct duties to keep the property in perfect order, clean and welcoming, for the guests they meet in person. In our days it is rare to encounter such a high level not just a customer service - human warmth and friendly treatment at the place where we just stay temporary for few nights. But that exactly what brings us back again to such places, and that exactly what motivates us to share with others about them. Which I am doing on behalf of my brother, who is not a "writer", let apart in social media, but I am. If I ever travel to Budapest, I know where my stay will be. Not only because of the great quality of property and service for a very budget value, nor because of a perfect downtown historic location - few blocks from Danub, but because I want to feel like I am a personal guest , welcome and esteemed, safe and...
Read moreThis hotel is the worst place i had ever stayed. The receptionist are not so customer and service oriented - rude and not so friendly (no greetings when you arrived or when you go out, they seen you as a merely wind) especially the blond thin lady. You need to pick up your breakfast in reception and it’s a joke because it’s in a styrofoam. Second day i go down to pick up our brekky and the blond lady asked me for my drink i told her a coffee please then she just put it on the machine and went for a cigarette and imagined i need to remind her that my coffee is ready and she needs to make another one as i need one more coffee for my friend). The room is not so ventilated. The toilet my god is hell, shower tiles is mega filthy, no hooks for your clothes to hang on. The towel they gave is like an old retiree towel ready to give up that when you try to pat on your face or body the fibers will leave unto your skin. Theres no proper closet to hang your things and hanger is limited. This place doesn’t have kitchen for you to warm your food, to get some warm water. The corridor is too narrow. As i mention, the breakfast is in styrofoam not so environmental friendly and they serve always the same. The first day we arrived we already complained about the wifi unfortunately nobody seems to care. Our whole stay in this hotel is a joke! No wifi. Prolly the only good thing about this is the location other than that nothing.
Overall, I strongly NOT...
Read moreI stayed for 5 nights and everything was perfect to my needs and expectations: clean, quiet, private bathroom… and very good price. The location is very good, two steps from Blaha Lujza ter. It is a simple hotel, with no luxury or much space, but they manage to offer a good breakfast at the reception, that you can take to your room on a tray: bread, croissant, marmalade, butter, cheese, yogurt, honey, coffee and milk. Very good! The receptionists were very pleasant. I particularly refer to Fady, whose big smile was the same wether it was during the day or at night. He received me very happy when I checked in at 2:30 am. I really cannot understand or subscribe the negative reviews. 5 stars!
I stayed in Esprit Hotel for a second time and my experience was even better. During the 9 days I stayed there, all my occasional requests were promptly attended and solved. All the receptionists (Fady, Benjameen, Majd, Areej, Angy, Noor…) were very welcoming and kind and I really was treated like family. During my stay, I lost my mobile phone inside a bus, and it was thanks to Benjameen that I managed to contact my family and even to recover my phone. Benjameen lent me his private computer and even an extra mobile phone to walk safely in the city. Amazing people! Amazing professionals! Amazing place! It is a simple and small hotel, but everyone over there is willing to give us the best possible...
