TODO Mexican Kitchen — Restaurant in Budapest

Ok Food with really bad customer experience, they kick us out after 2 hours.

I’m a Mexican living for 11 years in Budapest and I’ve been hearing about the Hype of TODO for a while, so I decided to take a look and invited 5 of my friends to taste the food.

At the beginning everything was ok, waiter was polite and took our first drinks order. Then probably after 20-30 minutes the food order with extra tequila shots order was given to the polite waiter.

But as time progressed the food and drinks started to be delayed for almost 1 hour, so we ate the food that was ok( not the best Mexican food in town) and while we were still eating and drinking our delayed food , the manager through the waiter asked us to leave cause our 2 hours were finished and there was people waiting to sit in our table, unbelievable!

You delay the food and drinks by not hiring enough people to prepare everything and then you ask the customers to leave while they still eat the foo? NEVER in Hungary this has happened to me, and my other 5 friends are Hungarian so they know what they’re talking about , really disappointed.

We were there on Friday it was one of my worst experience. The dips took 30 minutes to arrive, the taste was good but the tortilla chips tasted and looked store bought. We just instantly ordered the starters and main dish and the second round of drinks. It took about an hour to arrive they completely forgot about our tequila shots when I asked about it the waiter came back to tell they don’t have enough of it so we ordered a different one. We got a completely different one. But they told us this is what we ordered. My mexican friend was there and if he says it’s different I truly believe his words. And here comes the most disappointing thing about the dinner I just started eating my churros while my friends were drinking and the waiter asked us to hurry up and leave because they have a bigger reservation. It would have been okay if they told us before we reserved 4 weeks ago… but this way is purely unacceptable asking the consuming customers to leave, are you kidding me? So all in all it was such a big disappointment I had high hopes about Todo but sadly it...

The place is beautiful, clean and organized, but Budapest has better options on Mexican cuisine for sure.

The food doesn’t taste bad, but I feel like it’s missing something.

I would suggest a better proportion between chilli con carne and tortillas or at least don’t charge it if the customer needs a few more pieces to finish the plate (some places don’t charge for that, specially Mexican food restaurants). The meat tastes good though.

A friend of mine ordered the pork belly tacos and it was pure fat, dripping like water and making her plate look like a fat pool 🫠 So, you should avoid that.

The alcohol free caipirinha was DELICIOUS but too expensive for a tiny glass of… juice! The size and price would make sense for an alcoholic drink, but not for a mocktail.

Last but not least, the music suddenly became too loud… It would be less weird if that happened in a gradual way.

The place is very beautiful and colorful, but the whole experience...
