McDaid’s Pub has always been a favourite of ours, since the 1980’s, when we used to frequent it regularly. Now, although now no living in Dublin anyway, it is still my favourite meeting up point when myself and our ‘slightly more mature Girlie Gang’ catch up. So, we spent a most enjoyable couple of drinks there last Saturday afternoon, enjoying chat and watching the Rugby. We then moved on to a local restaurant for some dinner and it wasn’t until I went to pay the bill that I realised my purse was not in my bag! My last recollection of having it was when I paid for drinks in McDaids, earlier that evening. Not realising that I had mistakenly left in on the counter after paying for the drinks, I had NO hope or expectation of recovering it. However, I took the chance to return to McDaid’s that night and to my delight, the lovely Barman had kept it behind the counter for me for safe keeping! I was SO relieved, as EVERYTHING, cash, cards, Luas ticket, ID, etc was contained in it! I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation to McDaid’s and it’s wonderful, efficient and HONEST staff, for retrieving and keeping my wallet for me and ensuring its safe return. McDaids now definitely continues to be our FAVORITE Pub in Dublin, for its atmosphere, staff, ambience and HONESTY! Thanks a Million...

Worst bar man ever met on Fri 10th Feb 2023 , extremely rude and ignorant , even another couple at bar noticed how rude he was to us . I said it to another member of staff that bar man had been rude and his ignorant reply was " He served ya didn't he " !!! We sat outside and had our drinks , ashtrays full , dirty glasses . Pub wasn't even busy . We finished our drinks quickly and went across rd to bruxelles which was packed , great atmosphere great pints of guinness and staff very friendly . Mc daids shud take notice and give staff some customer training , when u take on a job in dealing with general public , good service is part of ur job . Never again would I tell anyone to go there I will be telling them avoid the place because...

I personally love McDaids bar which is located in the heart of Dublin city centre just off Grafton Street. (Next to the Westbury Hotel)

This bar has a old school look and feel and is great for anyone who wants to experience a true sense of an Irish bar while in the centre of Dublin. This bar serves great drinks but is especially well known for its Guinness. (Thanks to the main brewery being located so close by)

You are also able to sit just out the main eneterance of the bar and enjoy drinks, but you might also be lucky and will be able to experience some of the live buskers which are usually performing near here on Grafton street.

Great bar if you are looking for some good drinks with a...

A small room traditional old pub. I stopped for a Guiness late at noon time. I asked for finger food to pair my beer only to be told that no food is served. Very few people around and much quiet site at this time. A few people were sipping their drinks sitting on stools next to a couple of black barrels in a small yeard at the entrance door. Walls are painted in dark colors and fully covered by pictures and ads signs. I was impressed by the decorative tiles behind the bar! I hope place is more vivid at a later time within the day. If you are fan of the Thin Lizy irish rock group take a photo of the Phil Lynott bronze statue just opposite the pub entrance door.

We were looking for the Statue of Phil Lynott and having found it we decided to have a quick drink. McDaids was just opposite so we wandered in and ordered a pint and a half of Guinness. We loved the interior of this place, all the old wood, the stained glass and the junk that seems to have been accumulated over the years. However, the Guinness was very good, the service polite and friendly and it was reasonably priced. They had two TV sets tuned and waiting for the Rugby. Ireland were playing Italy. This is exactly how i like my pubs to be, comfortable, cosy and friendly. What more could you ask for?

We stopped by last Friday afternoon whilst in town shopping. firstly I have to say the staff were a joy to interact with, polite and very helpful. as you can imagine for a warm, dry Friday afternoon the watering hole was full of locals and tourists which made for a great atmosphere. The pint of Guinness was very good and not too pricey at €7.20 for the location. It was great for myself and herself to sit at the bar and try to identify the characters in the old photos. I would definitely recommend you drop in for a pint if near by, I will definitely be back soon.
