I see my review was taken off which I put on 5 weeks ago I have just been through photos of people in ur pub with jeans on leather jackets and all sorts on which to me is fine we don't dress all the same and should be allowed to wear what u r Comfortable in As I stated in my first review we walked into your pub. Sober you didn't refuse me or 2 others that I was with you refused. My son entry who, by the way, was very smartly dressed. The young barman even asked him to stand back so he could see what he was wearing. Because you could see you couldn't get him. On the way he was dressed. You decided to say you'd have too much to drink but we'd only been out an hour and a 1/2 and no, none of us were drunk or acted in a disrespectful manner. My son brought us to Dublin just for the one night before. We travelled to meet family in Wexford. Which we do every year.
But very strange. That he was the only one. Which had Dark skin that u Questioned but he held his head high and walked out This is to the manager I would love u to take a look at ur cctv on the 31 May at around 7 30 to 8pm and tell me what was wrong also would love a reply if...
Read moreJust back from a Dublin trip with my Irish boyfriend (a local and Kerry fan) and my nephew with his girlfriend from Switzerland. After celebrating Kerry’s win, we went to The Foggy Dew for live music. My boyfriend was tipsy but cheerful, the rest of us were stone sober.
From the moment we walked in, the bartender eyed him suspiciously. He refused to serve my boyfriend, then refused to serve me when I ordered a cocktail. My boyfriend left without a fuss, but when I stepped outside, I found him in a shouting match with the bouncer, who falsely claimed he'd been pushed. He was just standing on the public pavement.
In all the time I’ve known him, my boyfriend has never been aggressive. Yet the bouncer was the most hostile person there. Aren’t they supposed to calm situations, not escalate them?
We were three sober tourists and one cheerful Irishman treated like troublemakers. It was humiliating, especially for my nephew on his first visit to Ireland. Avoid The Foggy Dew. There are plenty of proper Irish pubs in Dublin. This isn’t...
Read moreThis is a brilliant spot, not quite a dive or rock bar but not far off it either, you get everyone in here, the office crowd in their suits, rockers, skinheads, punks, hipsters, goths. It usually has a great selection of music playing on random so if you don't like a tune that's playing one that you do like will be along in a minute. The Guinness is very good but recently I've taken a wee break, the selection of non-alcoholic beers is pretty good with 3or4 options rather than the usual one as an afterthought. If you get the chance try pop in on a Sunday night, there's a resident Ska band followed by a Reggae DJ, I defy you to go and not end up dancing around like a lunatic it's a great night. With the Olympia just around the corner these guys will do themed nights if certain bands are playing pre/post gig party sorta stuff.
In this man's opinion the only pub in Temple Bar...
