Do you like mediocre noodles? Do you like paying €18.50 for a small bowl and a bottle of water? Do you like waiting 30-40 minutes for those noodles? If you answered yes, then you might actually like this place. For me, it was one of the worst dining experiences ever. The place was not even busy. There were empty tables everywhere and the staff were not pushed. I came in on my lunch break and ended up waiting 35 minutes to get a bowl of very over priced and really not that good noodles. For that price I expected much more. How long does it take to get a average sized bowl of noodle ready? Attached is what I got for my €18.50, as it sits on my office desk because they couldn't even get that ready in under almost forty minutes.. Apparently they charge a few extra quid for eating in as opposed to take away but I was forced to make it take away after spending well over my lunch break waiting for these sub par noodles. My advise is to just avoid this place because there is nothing positive I can even point to in my experience there that would ever make me think I would ever go back. There are plenty of other really good noodle places within a five minute walk. Check them out and give this...
Read moreThis might be some of the worst food I've ever eaten. I got the liangpi noodles with extra meat and it definitely didn't have extra meat in it (I ordered beef, chicken, and prawn in it - for €4 I got 2 prawn, for €4 I got about 3 pieces of beef, and maybe 6 pieces of chicken, all very small - completely overpriced); the noodles were not bouncy like the description said and actually kinda just fell apart, very unappetizing (sauce was also pretty bland). The shrimp sui mai picture is actually of har gow - which is what I wanted, but beware the pics and actual food are completely different which was pretty frustrating (and the sui mai weren't good). The pan fried dumplings (I got an order of the chicken, beef, and pork) are SUPER OVERCOOKED (think like hard plastic overcooked, might as well be Lego food) and incredibly difficult to eat (ended up just having to throw them out cause they were so rock hard and inedible) - just not good at all... I also asked for chili sauce with all my dumplings and for some reason was given vinegar sauce (which was gross). Overall would NOT recommend this place AT ALL for a...
Read moreThis was my second visit to a Xian Street. I had visited the one in Dublin 2 before and this was my first time visiting the one in North.
I ordered Special Biang Biang noodles with Veg tofu etc. It was not that amazing first of all. Last time the item I had was lot better in South one. This time not so great. There was some kind of spice, star anise perhaps, that almost did something to my tongue and changed the whole taste of the food. It could be that the vegetarian version isn't that great maybe. Try on your own risk.
I asked them if I can get the leftover packed and take home and I was just given an empty bowl to do it myself. I was expecting they will help me with that. I had formals on and ended up getting some oil on my shirt. I am not the kind of guy who makes fuss on such small things but that was quite a simple and normal ask from them.
I don't think I'll eat again here in the north side one, not so good experience and even the food wasn't up...
