We were really looking forward going there as the food was always amazing in the past but unfortunately we were very much let down.

From waiting one hour and 20 minutes for the main to a foreign hair in the food.

But start at the beginning

We were led to our table immediately after arrival.

We sat in the section through the back at the end of the restaurant, near the restrooms.

These are the tables with one side benches and the other side of the table then chairs.

We got the menus quickly and decided pretty quickly.

We had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks, 40 minutes for the starters (only two of us had a starter) and one hour and 20 minutes for the main.

The table next to us was occupied by 3 people. You could already see that this table was much smaller than ours. After a while, however, 2 more friends joined this group.

This table was clearly for a maximum of 4 people but this group squeezed in 5 people at that table.

So much that the lady next to me on the bench was almost sitting on my lap. We had no privacy at all.

When after further waiting our main course came, we had to find out that the king prawns were so over cooked that you could not bite through them.

I had them asked the waitress if we could please get new ones that were not over cooked.

The manager then came to our table to find out exactly what the problem was. I explained it to her and she told us that we will get fresh ones.

After 15 minutes (we had almost finished our meal and left the overcooked prawns at that point) new prawns arrived.

Unfortunately, these prawns were dipped in ginger and the ginger taste took over completely. It is important to know that we had asked for no ginger with our original order. I just left the new prawns out and ate the rest.

When I was almost done, I then unfortunately found a foreign black hair in the food. I didn’t have the energy to complain again and just stopped eating.

We then ordered the bill and we’re surprised to find that we were charged 12.5% service charge. This was not communicated to...

My husband and I have been visiting Yamamori South since 2006. In the beginning, we had our anniversary dinners in April every year, then we started going there for meals about 3-4 times a year. In the past 3 or so years, excl Covid time, we started visiting Yamamori North with a group of our best friends about 3 times a year. The last time we visited that restaurant was on 5 November 2022 for my birthday. Front of house and bar service was excellent, as usual. As you can imagine, once again we thought the food was excellent. The only thing that I have to mention here is the table service that evening. Although we were served with good manners, towards the end of our meal, when I asked for a glass of tap water, I was told, there are not enough glasses in the restaurant to have tap water, and I was asked perhaps I would like a beer instead. I said I already had one beer, so I was ok. But my friend also wanted water, so he ordered a small bottle of Pellegrino. The waitress asked how many glasses he would like, so he asked for three. We were baffled by this, and we asked ourselves how is possible to receive 3 glasses for a small bottle of water but none of the tap water. I understand the whole situation may sound trivial and perhaps I sound like picking on something irrelevant. However, as a regular customer, I thought my observation might prompt the management to look into this, as my friends told me later that evening: The food was excellent, but it will be a while before we will be back.

Kind...

I was very disappointed with my recent visit to your restaurant. Not only was the manager unfriendly and the service from him was poor, but the soft drinks we ordered were also not good. They were filled with ice and had no fizz in them.

When we raised this issue with the supervisor, he did not seem to care and did not offer to replace the drinks or fix the problem. We were also getting weird looks and stares from the supervisor frequently, I am unsure of why this was happening, maybe it was because some of my family members were wearing hijabs and were being stereotyped. This is unacceptable as it left my family members uncomfortable and felt like they were being watched. I advice any middle eastern people not to go as they will be discriminated for their looks.

We were also charged an unreasonable amount for service which was not worth the price. I expect a certain level of service and quality when dining at a restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience fell short of this standard and I regret taking my family to this place.

After all of this neither me nor my family were happy and ended up annoyed for the rest of the day, this is not how people should feel on a special occasion.

I hope that you take this feedback seriously and take steps to improve your customer service and the quality of your drinks in the future. Also last bit of advice for the supervisor, please put a smile on your face and welcome your customers like you would to...

Nothing negative to say about Yamamori. Positives. Venue and service We booked a few hours before but they had plenty of space. We asked for a table with extra space for shopping bags and there was no hesitation to find somewhere suitable. The decoration inside is beautiful. Staff constantly checking on us and made sure allergens were catered for. Food The yamenades are delicious and we instantly thought they were like mojitos. The organic red wine was so good or friend took pictures of the menu to find out themselves Prices for individual sushi is high, however we opted for the lunch bentos and found them to be extremely well priced. We asked for 2 to be served with tofu instead of the seafood skewers due to allergy to prawn and there were no issues or mistakes. This tofu changed my opinion of tofu. I have always had bad experiences but this was delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. Although the sushi was expensive, I felt the quality and portions were very good. The salmon didn't just sit on the river, it draped and covered the rice. The rolls were also of a larger scale. Keep in mind a tip is added automatically. I don't like this but I would have tipped something similar anyway. I just prefer to leave cash for a tip to the staff over the venue direct. Would definitely come back and visit again.

Great food, we ordered the chefs special sushi platter thing (12 pieces of sushi - kind of on the small side) and the pork gyoza. The sushi was excellent, fresh and melt in your mouth kind of feeling. The gyozas were good but were slightly over steamed and therefore too wet. I can honestly say we did not get full, it is not nearly enough food for two people and the total came to €40 (would have been more if we didn’t order the tap water which thankfully was free). It is entirely too expensive for what it is, I mean the ramen is €20?!? You can make just as good ramen at home for way less and if you don’t want to cook go to Jervis station and there is a restaurant called Takara which does the same if not better food for half the price. I wanted to like this place but I cannot justify the prices which are entirely too high and the servers weren’t pleasant either - the one who took our order was very snobby when we only ordered the platter to share as if he was expecting more, the one who brought us our dessert menu snatched the menus back once he realised we have already paid and wanted to leave. Honestly not a great experience for the price you’re paying and you don’t even end up feeling full afterwards. Spare yourself the money and just go to Takara
