Do not visit this restaurant! Our evening was memorable but in the worst sense. The bread was hard as rock, which the waiter did not see as a problem. He told us, that the bread was fresh. Only 2 days old .... (!?!) We asked him to remove it. The nice couple at our neighbour table got 8 plates of food before we even got one. At some point (after a very long period time – 20 minute) the waiter came and told that the kitchen had not recieved the order, because the computer communication between desk and kitchen (next door) was broken. We had to reorder and wait..... After another 20 minutes, maybe, I asked the owner if there was any kind of progress concerning our meal. He answered, that they had to make the pasta first ..... it takes time ???
Finally our food arrived after maybe 45 min. without a single excuse from the staff and no offer of compensation at all. The pasta carbonara for my wife was bad tasting (I tried a bite) and they had managed to choose the worst bacon pieces full of fat and gristle. The salad was very disappointing, and I chose not to eat it at all but instead just wait for my wife to finish, and then we went out to find a sandwhich for me at a sandwich bar.
The staff did not seem to care about us, but the owner chose not to charge us...
Read moreSeems like more of a tourist restaurant to me. The wine was probably the best about it. Food was okay, but nothing you need to go to a restaurant for. What takes away another star for me was the service. We were 2 people, the whole restaurant is fairly small and maybe 2 or 3 other tables were occupied, also with a maximum of 3 people. So the 2 waiters present at the time should have had no trouble keeping a good overview. Still, after ordering we were completely ignored for over half an hour, finally decided to call one of the guys over and ask how much longer it might take. He had to the guy who originally took our order (who was rather sitting in the corner playing on his phone). He glanced over with a confused look, they exchanged some words, and finally he had to come over to us and ask what we had ordered before. Apparently the kitchen never received our order so we had to wait again. In the end the food finally arrived, but there was never any form of apology for letting us sit there for over one hour, neither verbal, nor by offering us anything in the meantime. Surely you can find a better place, also with...
Read moreWe had a group dinner here for 50 travelers from California, mostly students. I understand that group dinners are stressful and even more so when there are vegetarians and gluten and dairy-free people in the group. The manager/head waiter seemed extremely stressed by this. He had prepared an entire platter of prosciutto for one of our travelers who has many allergies. Unfortunately, she is also vegetarian, so he was even more frustrated. I was asked to help him distribute all of the plates to diners with dietary restrictions in our group, but this manager/head waiter yelled at me. It was very frustrating to be yelled at while trying to help someone who was stressed.
The pizza itself was very bland and was not served hot. Most kids barely ate it. The dessert was supposedly panna cotta, but it was barely recognizable. It tasted like a bland marshmallow with no flavor. Terrible. Most students left the dessert behind. Many students complained that their bruschetta was overly toasted and even black. They...
