Eat here at your peril
First day in rome ordered 2 x Parmaham and mozzarella sandwiches 6euro each and 2 cokes 5 euro each
Waiter asked did we want bread? I remarked only around the sandwich and my partner pointed at the sandwiches on the menu and told him we didn't need extra bread
He brought 2 plates of Parma ham (tasteless and fatty) a huge lump of mozzarella (I'm not a mozzarella expert but I never enjoyed it) A plate of 🍞 BREAD (remember we specifically said we didn't want extra bread) that was in small rock hard slices
We assumed that was how they served their "sandwiches" We ordered 2 more cokes ( a further 10 euros)
So far I have this at 32 euros except the bill was 44 euros
I explained to the waiter that he must have double charged us and this is where it got emotional
He started jabbing his finger at my partner insisting "SHE SAID THATS WHAT SHE WANTED" even when I related the conversation that HE and I had had not ten minutes previously
I explained I wasn't poor or short of 12 euros but fair play and honesty means either he brought the wrong order or charged me wrong
I told him to bring the machine so i could pay and as he walked away he turned and dropped his shoulder as though he was going to come back and attack!
I didn't stand just waited the second or so to see what he would do and he changed his mind and went and got the machine we paid and left
Tbh I'd been up since 2am so he could probably have taken me today
But if this had happened when I was a bit fresher and not on holiday this would've ended different he needs to learn respect
I'm not sure if he's dishonest or stupid but the attitude alone shouts AVOID!!
If you do go there check your orders and don't let him talk down to you the...
Read moreWe were scammed here. We sat down to have a glass of wine and watch the buzzing of the fountain in front of us (the only plus about this place) and were offered watermelon after ordering our wine. As the water asked, would you like some watermelon?, it was assumed that this was a complimentary offer. We said sure and lo and behold, when the bill arrived, we were charged 6 euros for this offer. We called the manager over and explained that it sounded as if this was a complimentary offer or we would have specifically ordered this with our wine and he became defensive and said this is normal (???) and that they always offer special fruit to their customers. I did not like nor appreciate his haughty attitude when he was speaking with us. We never had a waiter/manager act this way when a customer is making a rightful complaint. In the end, we had to pay for this as well as the coperto. Ridiculous. For terrible service. Skip this place and go elsewhere...many other lovely bars and restaurants are close by and will not scam you into paying for something that seemed...
Read moreSince we arrived to ask if we could take a sit, the only women who we saw was a kind of old blond women and since the first contact she wasn't really nice... I could understand she was overwhelmed but wasn't they way.. then we ordered and I asked a coffee granita with cream (literally was written like that) thinking was a coffee cause was with the drinks.. and I asked a desser tiramisu (both were delicious) but she saw we ordered and I think that she could to explain to us that wasn't a drink at all but that was a dessert too... so we were at the table with 3 desserts and 1 drink... Anyway in general I found her attitude not really nice and could understand she's tired of tourists but it cost nothing to explain that wasn't a drink... I have to ask again another drink... Otherwise the desserts are amazing so delicious but the service... not...
