Went with a local to this place - it has nice character and was quiet (until a table full of Americans showed up - we're always kinda the noisy ones) - anyway there are seafood options galore here. I hadn't eaten for over 8 hours, and sadly I had been feeling a little queasy from the bumpy and jerky bus ride to get there, followed by all the exhaust fumes from car and motorcycles along the narrow streets. I chose the gnocchi instead of a meat/seafood dish while my dinner companion, she chose the swordfish. The bread (or at least some of it as there was some variety) they brought out was lightly salted and brushed with oil, giving it some extra kick than the usual dry table bread. The gnocchi was very good - they make the larger discs instead of the smaller rounds. There were 8 of them lying out on the plate with fresh cheese grated on them - they weren't drowning in a heavy sauce or anything like that. It was tasty and something I might order again. My dinner companion enjoyed her swordfish. I got a creme brulee while my companion ordered the chocolate with fruit. Both were good - although the creme brulee seemed different than that I've had in France - not bad, just different.- maybe with an Italian twist? I couldn't quite put my finger on it. This is an upscale place - the food is done very well, but you pay for that and get smaller portions in return - so keep that in mind if you are the type of diner that wants a massive...

We spent New Year's Eve at Osteria Dell'Ingegno and it was probably my favourite experience of the trip.

First of all, the food was incredible - and also quite a lot. I asked for a vegetarian alternative and they were happy to give it to me, I never felt like I asked too much.

Secondly, the drinks were impeccable! We had the Sauvignon Blanc and it was without a doubt the best I ever had. At midnight we also received a glass of Prosecco on the house to toast to the new year, which was a very nice touch.

And finally, and probably most importantly, the staff was an absolute delight. Everyone was so friendly, happy and helpful. The funniest thing was when they played the entire Grease soundtrack and whistled along, which really added to the atmosphere of the evening.

Overall, a great experience that will stay with me. Definitely a must visit when you go to Rome! And if you're looking for a place to celebrate New Year's Eve, look no further.

I came here with my husband from Chicago to celebrate my birthday. Now Chicago is known for really authentic restaurants and I’m used to a high level of quality when it come to food… THIS PLACE SURPASSED ALL MY EXPECTATIONS. I’m blown away by the craftsmanship of the food, the wine selection… I can not stress enough that you need to go here!!!! It’s AMAZING. Food is so delicious, wine is hand picked, they speak English Spanish Italian, you will be helped you will be loved on and you will want to go back!!! Christina remembered that I loved the mostarda ( made just for their restaurant, a delicious fruit marinated in spices and mustard. I KNOW how it sounds, but if you love cheese this goes soooo good with it.) Anyway she remembered and brought me an extra plate next time we went there!! How amazing and that and so thoughtful!! Rody was such a joy to talk to and listen to explaining the food and making sure we enjoy every second. I love it here. Can’t wait...

This was just beautiful! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our waiter translated the daily suggestions, gave us some background on certain food traditions in different regions of Italy, and was very kind and friendly overall. I had fried squid, which was perfectly seasoned, followed by a delicious sfoglia (or millefeuille if you are more acquainted with that word) with lemon cream and blueberries. My mother had spaghettoni pomodori and crème brullée (which she described as an angel pissing on her tongue. A fairly disgusting Flemish way of saying something tastes marvelous.). The wine was good, the food was good, the vibe was good. Heartedly recommend this.
