Where to start!? Just left here about one hour ago visiting from Liverpool for my girlfriend’s birthday. It’s my third time in Rome and always feel the waiters/waitresses go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We visited this restaurant upon arrival into Rome Monday evening and found the service from the guy outside navy suit slick back curly hair (kinda looks like Bradley Cooper) extremely welcoming, relaxing and casual towards his approach with us could not fault him. We ordered two beers each a pizza one penne arrabbiata came to around €70 which was fair given the location.

This evening we visit for my girlfriend’s bday today and approach the same guy who dealt with us two nights ago to have a special meal for her night in which we did…ish!! Ordered the same as the other night with the expecting of a steak instead of the pizza. Can’t fault the food or quality of service however upon receiving the bill I noticed it had gone from €70 to €216!!! Exactly you’re probably thinking the same as me… wtf!! But no steak is worth €146 regardless of how good it is. I checked the menu and the price of the item id ordered was €26. At no point did it say that we had to order a minimum of 400g in which I was being told quoted for with this price. We challenged the bill and explained our confusion to this and the manager who came out was quite intimidating and his was responses were almost premeditated as if they knew they’d tried to have us off. I’d explained we wasn’t prepared to pay this as at no point did they advise the price of the item was x4 or it was a minimum of it 400g it was just taken asif we was ordering any other dish from the menu. To conclude the manager threatened us with the police in which we agreed to wait until they arrived and also offered to contact them ourselves directly to speed up the process in which I found irrated him an called his bluff. Eventually he went down further and further in prices until we agreed to pay €150 which unfortunately ate the good mans tip who wed dealt with twice and settled a bill in what we feel was inflated.

Highly recommend this restaurant if your sticking to pastas etc but be aware of the manager and any meats your ordering as could easily find yourself in...

I can only agree. STAY AWAY, They just say what you want to hear, but the pasta is not homemade (if homemade the chef has no idea how to make pasta). The fish is not fresh at all, it is, at best, tasteless and a they claim a fish which is the size of 300-400 gram is magically 700 gram.

They prepare the fish in front of your eyes, but because it is mostly just bone and skin, they leave bone and skin to at least have some fish to serve. Se the attached photo of the fish prepared (removed bones and skin etc) by the waiter.

So, a portion of fried fish (mostly frozen calamari) with 2 pieces of shrimps and 2 pieces of baby octopus and a seabass mostly of bone and skin (and wayyyyyy overcooked) with pasta they claim was homemade mixed with a little seafood ( a few clams), 2 beers and a glass of wine.., 163 euro.

We honestly didn't even finish the food, it was not worth eating.

The waiter tried to excuse., " sorry but my English is not so go,". Not sure what influence his English skills has.on the quality of food and service.

So, basically we had a true tourist trap experience, worst and most expensive lunch at the same time.

And a note to myself.: If a restaurant is trying to make a fish dish interesting by hiding the food in aluminum foil in the shape of a swane which looks like a swane made by a child in kindergarten, all alarmbells should start ringing

Do yourself a...

This place is an absolute DISGRACE!!!!! We glanced at the menu to check prices and it all looked very reasonable which is why we decided to eat there. However, my partner and I were conned into buying a “special” dish that was not on the menu but when we categorically asked how much it would be, it was explained to us that it would cost little over €30. There was bread brought to our table that we did not ask for but we thought this must have been complimentary? WRONG! We also ordered two glasses of wine, they then brought a bottle of water out which we had said no too, again this was another hidden charge! When we got the bill, it came back to us as €178 for one sharing plate, two glasses of wine, bread and water. At no point during the ordering process was the pricing of the “special” explained to us. When we refused to pay the bill, the staff became extremely rude and the manager/owner was the worst of the lot, turning his nose up at the fact we were tourists from the UK, hinting at the fact that we were of no stature. This was our last night in Rome in what had been a memorable few days but this left a little black mark on our experience as we felt like we had been misguided greatly. After now reading further reviews it is clear to see that this not the first time this place has overcharged/conned people (particularly tourists). WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT...

AVOID HIDDEN CHARGES AND PLACE RUN DOWN AND DIRTY Avoid at all cost worst place I have eaten in Italy save you money go some place else. (Anywhere else) Only had main meal each being lasagna which had sloppy texture and sickly. Along with spicy penne which was at best meh pool of oil, smallest potions we have had in Italy and actually thankful due to the poor quality. at and Coca Cola each at bottle of water between us and plate of fried potatoes (fries) which was the best part of the meal and still subpar. All this cost €64 Would class this more like cheap microwave meal quality especially with the texture with the lasagna. Both myself and my partner went to the bathroom, and were disgusted. my partner decided to not use the toilet, sadly this was after the meal otherwise we would have left. The toilets were dirty and unkept, and very difficult to even close and lock the door. There was a dirty wet towel at the base of the sick with water still coming out, and messy toilet. Very disappointing considering the amazing food we have had elsewhere. Definitely avoid this tourist trap and spend the time looking around other establishments.

!!!!DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!! Absolutely amazed at how bad this place was. They deceitfully put up a menu at the front of the restaurant with a name that doesn't even correspond with the name of the actual restaurant (likely, to not read the bad online reviews which are entirely accurate). Upon being seated inside, you are greeted with really weird and tacky art work and treated with 1-week stale old bread you didn't even ask for. If you would like olive oil or balsamic vinegar with this bread be prepared to wait over 20min, as well as receive several eye rolls from the very rude waiters (despite asking in a polite manner). Overall, the food is average at best and severely overpriced (5 euros for water). The biggest issue with this place is the extremely rude waiters inside. Apparently it is forbidden in Rome to ask: "Can I please have some olive oil with the bread" or "Can I please have some permassan cheese with my pasta" or even "Can I please have the bill". Absolutely laughable 😂 To whoever runs this establishment, how do you sleep at night?
