Rude service, small portions, overpriced, lying to customers ! Stay away from this place! I lost my trust on Italians after this experience! Me and my friends were also invited by the person standing by the door and telling us, how big portions they have and that they are one of the top places ranked in trip advisor. We trusted him, walked in and received Terrible rude service by the older men, who didn’t know prices of Aperol Spritz, and he said he was working there for so many years… The portions were super small, we were eating there with my other friends and we left hungry after eating 10EUR portion of Carbonara. We talked that if we went there with our men they would need like 3 of those portions to feel full. After the dinner server said we can’t pay card only cash because of system issues, and we said we don’t have cash, then appearently the system worked, and we could pay by card… After walking out I told the DOOR men that I read the trip advisor (after dinner) and the portions were super small. And he said with his smily face ,, Yes I lied.” It’s was so rude, stay away!

I would’ve given ZERO star if I could! Avoid this place at all costs! I usually check restaurants reviews online before deciding where to eat. For this one, I had the unfortunate decision not to check reviews. I arrived straight to the airport and couldn’t checkin. So went for some food. 1. This place is a tourist scam/trap. 2. The service was okay as the waiter was trying to be helpful and nice to me, although I saw him yelling at another tourist over a bill problem. 3. The food is mediocre at best. Lacks taste, looks unclean and unsafe to eat. I haven’t finished my food and left the restaurant 4. Everything is super overpriced for the level of quality received. Please, don’t let the man in front of the restaurant make your mind to eat there. He will act nice, he will promise quality food, air conditioned place (which was very inefficient by the way), and he will even say a word or two in your home language to engage you in deciding to eat at the restaurant. Avoid this place if you care for quality and good food. You won’t find it there!

My first ever 1 star review.. Got lured in off the street by a man claiming there’s free wifi and aircon inside.. it’s an old fan blowing hot air around. Should have left at that point. Side note, I usually check reviews before going to a restaurant but couldn’t as I had no reception. Hence going in when he said free wifi except it didn’t work. Not surprised at all to see overall 2 stars when I’ve come to share my review. We ordered the “cold cuts” for entre to which parts of the cheese had furry MOULD on it and no it was not blue cheese. We also had a carbonara which despite being drenched in some kind of bad vegetable oil, had no flavour. I ordered the calamari which had absolutely no flavour at all. No one came around so I had to get up to ask for salt which still did not help the bland dishes. Fish not fresh. Don’t waste your time or money, worst meal we’ve had in the past 2 months of travelling in Europe.

Very disappointed. One waiter was so rude and mocking while the other was harassing me and followed me out on the street after i had left the restaurant. I'm so glad we decided to leave before ordering the food as all the one star reviews indicate this place is a scam! Read the full story below:

On first impressions, the restaurant did not look too bad. The outside looked well decorated and the menu seemed okay. We then took a seat on the inside where the interior was significantly worse than the outside, it gave really tacky cheap vibes. The menu was a sticky scrapbook which seemed to have missing pages, none of the food appealed at all.

The waiter then served us literally two seconds after we had sat down which gave us no time to think. He was being a bit pushy with the drinks order so my partner ordered a coke while i ordered nothing as i needed more time to think. After the waiter came with a mini coke bottle which he was charging us €4 for, we apologised and informed him that we only want the coke and that we had to shoot off (I was getting a weird vibe from this place and since it was our last night in Rome i wanted to go somewhere a bit nicer).

The waiter then got angry at us and walked off while saying that we had to pay with cash only. I then started to get the €4 out of my purse and put it on the table. I dropped some coins on the floor and went to pick some up. The waiter then came back with a receipt and then we realised he was adding service charge to the coke making it €4.40. I went to get some more money out of my purse, looked up and saw that some money was missing from the table. My partner and i are pretty certain the waiter took the money while we were looking for the coins on the floor out of spite. I then started to look for the coins under my plate and things to try and find it and then he started mocking and laughing at me. I got extremely upset, got more money out of my purse and left the restaurant.

My partner stayed inside as the waiter decided that he would allow us to pay by card (which my partner would rather as we had limited cash left). While my partner was paying inside i left and crossed the road to escape the situation. Another waiter then followed me and started aggressively asking me what my problem was. I then replied saying there was no problem we just need to go. Then he crossed the road to where i was and started repeatedly asking me where was going. I then started walking away but he just kept on harassing and following me. My partner then came out of the restaurant after paying and we left...

AKA “Trevi restaurant”…don’t go in, scammers.

My family of four was looking for a nice place to have an early appetizer and drinks. The staff was welcoming at first and then when we got seated it seemed to be all a money grab at this place.

First was the menu didn’t reflect what they actually had, this was for a fruit. Be careful ordering these fruit “plates” we wanted strawberries but were told none were available and that there was watermelon. He asked how many pieces we said 4, he noted they were small and we have small children so fruit is always a plus. However, each piece was charged individually at 6€ each. What a SCAM.

Additionally, the waiter spilled water all over our table but didn’t move us. Minus points there.

Don’t sit inside unless you enjoy the smell of “fresh” fish throughout the establishment.

When we got the bill to go, the waiter wrote on a paper “no tips included in the bill” … now we live in Italy and this was inappropriately devised. No where have we been we had to leave a tip in Rome. But he knows we’re from the USA, so that was the first of two times someone asked asked where we were from and they asked us for tips. We do tip if services were fair and out standing but to write it on a paper like that we knew it was about extorting us. Our bill was over €100 euro for two plates of carbonara (28€, 14each) two spritz (which were almost €24,12 each) 4 pieces of watermelon (€24 for 4) two bottles of water, fries, and the service charge to sit down was the rest. So yea watch out.

We knew it was going to be a bit pricier being near the Trevi fountain but this place was terrible. Read some reviews before you go in a place! We we’re successful after reading reviews. I should have known this place had bad reviews.

Also the carbonara was not smooth the egg was crumbled a lot

The aperol spritz was watered down.

Wouldn’t recommend this place. There are so many other well serviced restaurants and staff in Rome, even near a tourist area. But this was a tourist scam, it can ruin it for how...

Does he really think that we are stupid just because we are tourists? Of course, the 10€ offer was quite attractive... that's exactly why we chose this restaurant. But we shouldn't have. When we sat down the waiter gave us the menu but we told him that we came for the 10€ menu... from this moment on he wasn't nice anymore. I ordered a Caffe latte with my lasagne menu, I got something like an espresso... after he said that there was no latte. Strangely enough, the guy at the other table got a latte. The starter was ok I guess, but that lasagne... I just wanted to taste again the authentic lasagne before coming back home to Hungary... but it had nothing to do with it. My plate looked like sh**, people wouldn't even serve this plate in a canteen. It was quite depressing to see that though the Italian family at the other table ordered the same things they got the better version of everything. I mean good for them, but we felt bad. Now, the bill business... we asked for the bill several times. We wanted to pay separately for the 2 menus with my friend, it wasn't a problem at least... she had a note of 50€ and the waiter said that he had no change. I think it should not be a problem 50ms away from the Trevi Fountain... Oh yes. The 10% service, which was included on the bill. We were counting with that, but the waiter said that that's not even the service but some kind of tax. At this point, we really thought that he didn't deserve any tips so we were not willing to give any. As he said he had no change, we wanted to pay by card. Then he said that we can leave the tip in cash. He didn't want to type in the correct total in the credit card terminal... 30 instead of 13... ridiculous. He just couldn't speak English anymore... couldn't understand that we are NOT leaving a tip for this kind of service. We were so fed up... Guys, whatever you do, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS RESTAURANT. The food is horrible and the waiters are...
