Very disappointed. One waiter was so rude and mocking while the other was harassing me and followed me out on the street after i had left the restaurant. I'm so glad we decided to leave before ordering the food as all the one star reviews indicate this place is a scam! Read the full story below:
On first impressions, the restaurant did not look too bad. The outside looked well decorated and the menu seemed okay. We then took a seat on the inside where the interior was significantly worse than the outside, it gave really tacky cheap vibes. The menu was a sticky scrapbook which seemed to have missing pages, none of the food appealed at all.
The waiter then served us literally two seconds after we had sat down which gave us no time to think. He was being a bit pushy with the drinks order so my partner ordered a coke while i ordered nothing as i needed more time to think. After the waiter came with a mini coke bottle which he was charging us €4 for, we apologised and informed him that we only want the coke and that we had to shoot off (I was getting a weird vibe from this place and since it was our last night in Rome i wanted to go somewhere a bit nicer).
The waiter then got angry at us and walked off while saying that we had to pay with cash only. I then started to get the €4 out of my purse and put it on the table. I dropped some coins on the floor and went to pick some up. The waiter then came back with a receipt and then we realised he was adding service charge to the coke making it €4.40. I went to get some more money out of my purse, looked up and saw that some money was missing from the table. My partner and i are pretty certain the waiter took the money while we were looking for the coins on the floor out of spite. I then started to look for the coins under my plate and things to try and find it and then he started mocking and laughing at me. I got extremely upset, got more money out of my purse and left the restaurant.
My partner stayed inside as the waiter decided that he would allow us to pay by card (which my partner would rather as we had limited cash left). While my partner was paying inside i left and crossed the road to escape the situation. Another waiter then followed me and started aggressively asking me what my problem was. I then replied saying there was no problem we just need to go. Then he crossed the road to where i was and started repeatedly asking me where was going. I then started walking away but he just kept on harassing and following me. My partner then came out of the restaurant after paying and we left...

My family of four was looking for a nice place to have an early appetizer and drinks. The staff was welcoming at first and then when we got seated it seemed to be all a money grab at this place.
First was the menu didn’t reflect what they actually had, this was for a fruit. Be careful ordering these fruit “plates” we wanted strawberries but were told none were available and that there was watermelon. He asked how many pieces we said 4, he noted they were small and we have small children so fruit is always a plus. However, each piece was charged individually at 6€ each. What a SCAM.
Additionally, the waiter spilled water all over our table but didn’t move us. Minus points there.
Don’t sit inside unless you enjoy the smell of “fresh” fish throughout the establishment.
When we got the bill to go, the waiter wrote on a paper “no tips included in the bill” … now we live in Italy and this was inappropriately devised. No where have we been we had to leave a tip in Rome. But he knows we’re from the USA, so that was the first of two times someone asked asked where we were from and they asked us for tips. We do tip if services were fair and out standing but to write it on a paper like that we knew it was about extorting us. Our bill was over €100 euro for two plates of carbonara (28€, 14each) two spritz (which were almost €24,12 each) 4 pieces of watermelon (€24 for 4) two bottles of water, fries, and the service charge to sit down was the rest. So yea watch out.
We knew it was going to be a bit pricier being near the Trevi fountain but this place was terrible. Read some reviews before you go in a place! We we’re successful after reading reviews. I should have known this place had bad reviews.
Also the carbonara was not smooth the egg was crumbled a lot
The aperol spritz was watered down.
Wouldn’t recommend this place. There are so many other well serviced restaurants and staff in Rome, even near a tourist area. But this was a tourist scam, it can ruin it for how...
Read moreDoes he really think that we are stupid just because we are tourists? Of course, the 10€ offer was quite attractive... that's exactly why we chose this restaurant. But we shouldn't have. When we sat down the waiter gave us the menu but we told him that we came for the 10€ menu... from this moment on he wasn't nice anymore. I ordered a Caffe latte with my lasagne menu, I got something like an espresso... after he said that there was no latte. Strangely enough, the guy at the other table got a latte. The starter was ok I guess, but that lasagne... I just wanted to taste again the authentic lasagne before coming back home to Hungary... but it had nothing to do with it. My plate looked like sh**, people wouldn't even serve this plate in a canteen. It was quite depressing to see that though the Italian family at the other table ordered the same things they got the better version of everything. I mean good for them, but we felt bad. Now, the bill business... we asked for the bill several times. We wanted to pay separately for the 2 menus with my friend, it wasn't a problem at least... she had a note of 50€ and the waiter said that he had no change. I think it should not be a problem 50ms away from the Trevi Fountain... Oh yes. The 10% service, which was included on the bill. We were counting with that, but the waiter said that that's not even the service but some kind of tax. At this point, we really thought that he didn't deserve any tips so we were not willing to give any. As he said he had no change, we wanted to pay by card. Then he said that we can leave the tip in cash. He didn't want to type in the correct total in the credit card terminal... 30 instead of 13... ridiculous. He just couldn't speak English anymore... couldn't understand that we are NOT leaving a tip for this kind of service. We were so fed up... Guys, whatever you do, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS RESTAURANT. The food is horrible and the waiters are...
