San Desiderio — Restaurant in Siena

We went here on Friday on the recommendation of our hotel, when we arrived we were sceptical as there was v little atmosphere and the staff were not friendly or engaged, but we persevered as my parents were tired from travel. We shouldn’t have….we should have trusted our gut and left. We ordered: Asparagus and leek flan - was warm on the outside and cold inside Seabass with zucchini- slimey and under seasoned Zucchini and shrimp risotto- inedible, my mum didn’t eat it Ham and cheese - was fine

This restaurant is the most overrated dining experience of our Italy trip (Been there many times). Traveling from Venice to Siena (through Bolognia, Florence and Tuscan villages), we've enjoyed both family-run local eateries, to Michelin-starred restaurants, but this place is an absolute joke and tourist trap!

. Was recommended this restaurant by our landlady. Was such a tourist trap and a let down . Starting with the ugly dark room decorated with huge Ikea - like posters of horses ( I mean we had just been to the Duomo with all that glorious art and then walk into this ). They say you can't judge a book by its cover but this was not the case here . The food was so bad and so not refined . - for God's they served potato crisps as a side instead of potato chips!
