Trattoria Pizzeria All'Anforna is situated down near the Grand Canal in Venice and offers some of the best pizza around. It is usually full with people and a very popular option for a meal out with family or friends. The waiter wasted no time seating us on a moderately sized table and handed us all a menu each. There were a couple of pasta dishes but most of the menu was occupied by a vast selection of different pizzas. Nothing was expensive at all and was incredibly good value for the money (most pizzas cost in the range of €8-€12). The inside atmosphere is quite like a bar but gives off a friendly feeling inside as everyone was very polite there. The kitchen was open and you could see food being made from over the countertop. Our food was delivered relatively fast and tasted absolutely incredible. The quality of food and service was so good we went there twice during our stay in Venice! Trattoria Pizzeria All'Anfora was a welcome find during our time in Venice. If you're looking for a straightforward and satisfying meal without the hefty Venetian price tag, this place is worth considering.

Their standout feature is definitely the impressively pizzas. The crust was nicely done, and they offer a good variety of classic toppings to choose from.

Beyond the pizza, the trattoria also offers a selection of other Italian dishes. While we focused on the pizza and pasta, what we saw of other plates looked hearty and traditional. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, feeling like a local spot rather than a tourist trap, which was a definite plus.

One of the highlights for us was the charming garden area in the back. It provided a lovely escape from the bustling streets of Venice and offered a pleasant setting to enjoy our meal.

I gave 5 stars because not only was this the best meal we have had in the week we have spent in Rome, Florence and now Venice, but the service was nice…They weren’t super fast like Americans usually expect, but they were jovial and took care of us. It wasn’t super fast, but they were very busy and everyone was working. Maybe this wasn’t the atmosphere some are looking for as it was casual and simple, but everywhere I looked every person at every table was laughing and enjoying each other. I didn’t see anyone I didn’t think was a local. Not a single person was holding their phone. We had pizza, calzone and an order of anchovies which were so good my teenager had two… nothing like what is expected at the mention of an anchovy in the states. It was a whole feel cooked until tender… I don’t know how, but it was delectable. Nothing fishy or salty about it, but more like it was grilled....
