This Izakaya style restaurant is located near Hakata Station in Fukuoka, but only accessible from outside of the station building. The restaurant is very popular with locals so a reservation is necessary. The staff speaks limited English but is very friendly and service oriented. The restaurant specializes in fish and shellfish, and many courses are a bit exotic, so if you don’t speak Japanese (we do) and aren’t adventurous, you probably should look for a different place. My japanese friend brought me to try whale meat at this restaurant. The place bustled with locals and had a good ambience. I don’t fancy raw food that much so it’s nice that the meat in the seafood palette are all bite sized morsels.
