Got tempura, sashimi and sushi at ~7pm on a weekday. We were the first customers and then two other parties came in shortly after. Everything was incredibly slow. It wasn’t like omakase where we get piece by piece so we got everything all at once. The rice for the sashimi was also very vinegary and it was noticeable. The red snapper was the worst fish I have ever had (very stringy, I couldn’t even eat it all) but the rest was good. There’s also an owl right in front and it just feels like it’s there to bring people in but it’s really just cruel. Wouldn’t recommend. There’s better in the area for similar prices. Less than 10,000 yen per person with...

I selected this restaurant because I wanted to enjoy Japanese cuisine and they had an English menu (I do not speak a word of Japanese): It was a very nice experience. It was a good idea to arrive early, right after opening, as the restaurant got filled quite quickly during the dinner. The waiter was very kind and his English was good enough to get everything ordered and served. Very helpful. The food was very tasty, very good quality. The only negative point is that they only accept cash for payment (I noticed this limitation in several other Kyoto restaurants). If credit cards would be accepted I would have put a 5 stars to...

This restaurant is so good we visited twice! Once on the weekend where it was semi busy, and once on Monday evening where it was quiet.

You'll be greeted by Konama, the adorable little owl in the entrance way, the friendly chef and staff, and then treated to an amazing meal. Everything on the menu is fresh, tasty and prepared masterfully behind the counter. Try to get seats at the end of the counter if you can, best seats in the house.

English menu is available, and the staff will try their best to explain if you have any questions.

We wish we could take this restaurant home! Definitely the highlight of...

On my first day in Kyoto, I passed by this place and noticed a small window that instantly caught my eye. A few days later, I stumbled upon it again…as if it was meant to be 😊and decided to walk in. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a friendly and attentive chef. I went for the Chef’s Selection (7 items), and wow… every bite was incredible. The portions were generous, and by the end,I was truly full and satisfied. 👏🏼 I 100% recommend this spot if you’re looking for an unforgettable omakase experience in Kyoto. Just make sure to bring cash at least ¥10,000 per person.

What an amazing place! Walked in after a long day of touring Kyoto and it was exactly what we were looking for. The service was great, the fish was some of the freshest I’ve ever had, and the sushi chef was so kind. Cash only but definitely reasonably priced for the quality of food. The fatty tuna was incredible, wish we were here another day so we could go back! Don’t forget to say hello to the owl when you walk in!
