We were in Kyoto for vacation this summer. After a long day we wanted some good Indian food. We found this place on Google maps and decided to go there. Upon reaching the place we found it full. So we enquired with the staff if there was a wait , and how long would the wait be. I was with my family and we decided that we could wait upon being informed that it would be around 30 minutes. Suddenly from the inside came a person dressed in chefs attire. He started shouting at the place is good in that please go away. When I told him that we are okay to wait for 30 minutes as informed by the staff, he shouted again but please go to some other place. His demeanour was very aggressive and disrespectful. And he turned the face of the close symbol towards us. All the while, a group of non-Indian guests kept waiting there and were treated very politely.
In short it was a horrible experience without even entering the restaurant. I’m never going back there again and would advise fellow Indians to be careful.
P.S. - The one star rating is there because you cannot get any lower.

Read moreA Hidden Gem for North Indian Food Lovers in Kyoto!
After three years away from Sri Lanka, I was seriously craving authentic North Indian flavors—especially a good masala dosa and rasam. Today, I finally found the perfect spot right here in Kyoto, Japan!
Tucked away in the heart of the city, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we stepped in, the vibe was warm and welcoming. The decor, the aroma, and even the background music playing Tamil songs—it all transported me straight back to a cozy Tamil restaurant in Sri Lanka.
The food? Absolutely incredible. The masala dosa was perfectly crisp with a flavorful filling, and the rasam was just the way I remembered—comforting, spicy, and soul-warming. It’s been a long time since I’ve had food that brought back such strong memories, and I couldn’t be happier.
If you’re in Kyoto and craving authentic North Indian cuisine with a Tamil twist, this place is a must-visit. I’d rate the food 100 out of 100—no...
Read moreThe restaurant is extremely racist. They are Indians, still we experienced racism(we are Indians)
We were rudely told by the Waiter- "India se aye ho? Japan k rules nahi Pata? Yaha pe jab tak seat nahi btate, Bahar wait karna Hota hai". Meaning, Are you from India? Don't you know the rules of Japan? You have to wait till we tell you to sit.
We felt extremely disrespected. We stood up and came out. Telling rules politely is one thing, and disrespecting someone based on ethnicity is other thing.
We studied well. My husband went to Sweden by his own efforts at a very nice university. We both are from one of the best institute of our country India.
We earned this trip by our hard work. And we are reporting this...
