We strongly recommend that you avoid using this facility. It was the most uncomfortable and unusable design I've ever had. Anyway, the system is complicated and even Japanese ppl have much of resistance for that. It was probably built to follow some rules, which makes it a very difficult facility to use. I strongly think that it is best not to use this part, especially for foreigners who do not understand Japanese. This applies not only to customers but also to store staff. I have to say that the staff's service is far from the average Japanese service level, and is quite poor. This is because complex systems must be explained, understood, and followed by customers, which is almost impossible at first glance, and the reasons are not explained. I will also enumerate the points that I found unpleasant in terms of basic infrastructure.
The room temperature cannot be set. Your ID will be taken when you first register, but you will also need to register online yourself, which is quite troublesome. Furthermore, advance payment is required. You can't make any sound (even though it's a private room and you pay a high price, it's not soundproofed and earphones aren't always provided. The sound leaks out) Shoes are not allowed and you need to carry shoes with you. Even though the price is high in the private room, you can't drink some drinks without water. The comics selection is so old that I don't know what kind of setting it is, and the aisles are extremely narrow, so I can't get anything in the first place. A clerk talks about a customer's complaint in front of the customer. There is no trash can in the room. There's no safe either Unable to switch rooms It was a shock.
Really, I don't plan on...
Read moreStaff are super helpful and willing to help (especially if you don't speak Japanese). There are small cubicles with wide seats or flat "beds".
The computers are a bit difficult to use (the keyboards are in Japanese) but it's not too difficult to figure it out if you want to do some internet browsing.
There is a shower (charge is 300 JPY for 12min and 100 JPY for each 5min after that). There is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, as well as a hair dryer. You have to bring your own towel or buy one (100 JPY for a small one or 400 JPY for a large towel).
There's also free drinks (tea, coffee, water and soft drinks) during your time there.
Everything is very clean and this is a great place to spend a couple of hours waiting for a train or bus. My overnight highway bus stop was just outside, making it super convenient!
The one downside? The cubicle walls don't go up to the roof, so the smoke from the "smoking" cubicles is everywhere, regardless of whether you get a non-smoking cubicle. If you know this is going to bother you or if you hate the smell of smoke I'd avoid this place. Otherwise it's a great place to freshen up after a day or sightseeing or to have a rest before...
Read moreService was horrible. Not recommended, read below.
We got there in 6 AM and purchased the ‘shower only’ service in which they promoted it as a ‘300 JPY’ (exclude the membership of 200 JPY, facilities fee for 550 JPY) total of approx 1050 JPY. Which was fine because they informed it. They said it was okay if its on their busy hour, but they didn’t compensate it.
At 6 AM, we (group of 5) were only given 1 hour to did everything BUT!!!! There were +- 3 person queuing for shower and there were only 3 shower room. I asked the staff whether we can use shower room in other floor, they said I cannot. They didn’t warn us before the time end, and charged us for overtime. When I said “there were a queue because it was busy hour” they said it doesn’t matter (かんけない)and charged us additional 600 JPY per person.
In total, we spend 1650 JPY each person. The place was also super narrow, you basically cannot bring any luggage here comfortably.
TLDR: good for solo traveler, DO NOT SHOWER HERE if you...
