Bar Agréable — Restaurant in Osaka

My girlfriend and I had a great time here. It was so great, we came back 3 more times during our trip to Osaka. The staff is wonderful and does an amazing job of taking care of the customer. If you love whiskies or cocktails, you must come here. Every recommendation they gave was excellent. I am a huge Scotch whisky fan, and they had many pleasant surprises including plenty of SMWS bottles and other delicious non-Scotch options from around the world. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and were able to explain a lot to us in English.

We went to other bars of a similar size and they often had the problem of having only one bartender who makes cocktails and gives recommendations. That would become a problem when the bar filled up, often causing a long wait. At Bar Agreable, they have multiple staff who are skilled at making drinks and suggestions. We never waited for service here. It's really convenient and they are able to quickly accommodate everyone, even if the bar is full.

The only warning I have is that they sell cigars and allow indoor smoking. So if you are sensitive to that, this bar may not work for you. My girlfriend hates smoking, but she dealt with it because everything...

My overall experience was that Oashi and the team are running a really well oiled / classy version of the secluded whisky bar that is present throughout Osaka. It's a smoking area, which may deter some, but the team was knowledgeable and passionate about sharing their knowledge. The house made pickles are delicious and the whisky selection is broader / deeper than many other bars in the area. If you're looking to escape Dotonburi for a bit leave your ego at the door and come here either alone or in pairs. I visited this bar because I looked it up on maps and also because I heard something on netflix (something the staff wasn't aware of as netflix mentioned them in a Documentary about Osaka). I came with my partner who was pregnant and even though she couldn't drink alcohol, the staff prepared 2 excellent fruit "mocktails", which she loved while I learned a little about Japanese whiskey with the friendly Oashi Atsufumi. In the end I left the bar in love with the Japanese whiskeys. Highly recommend visiting this Bar. The staff are fantastic and extremely friendly, shout out to Oashi Atsufumi and Junya Todo.
