Teppan Osaka — Restaurant in Osaka

This is the worst service I’ve ever had. We were the first ones in the restaurant at opening, and yet it took us over 2 hours to get served and pay the check. We had to ask them to put our rice in takeaway boxes because it was taking so long. They also messed up our order and knowingly gave us the wrong steak. They served four of us and forgot the fifth person, even though three of us ordered the same thing. When we asked where the last order of tenderloin was, they said it was on its way, but served us 30 minutes later. When we bit into it, we realized it wasn’t tenderloin. We asked what they served us, to which they admitted it was t-bone. At that point, we had already been there two hours and just wanted to leave. We still needed the rice we ordered, but decided to just take it to go since it was taking so long. Three of us eventually had to simultaneously wave her down to finally ask her for the check—keep in mind she was standing a meter away from us this entire time. Needless to say, we will never go back here again. They are very very disorganized. Pretty good steak though, if you ever get it.

In response to the reply below, yes we are 100% certain we ate at this restaurant. I recognize the chef in the pictures and we recognize the venue. We sat at the countertop. while the chef cooked in front of us. And on your English menu, you had tenderloin (which is what we ate), and we could immediately tell that the third steak that was delivered late was different from the rest (it was t-bone). So now you've knowingly lied to try and recover your reputation. POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES AND APPARENTLY VERY DISHONEST!!! DONT...

Ordered their standard two set meals of grilled veggies, shrimp, squid, and beef rib tips per their recs. The veggies honestly were very basic and heavily salted. The beef tips... my gosh the hardest piece of meat I have ever had, why is this even served. Very difficult to chew and even harder to swallow. We were the only customers so we felt all eyes were on us. We ordered their wagyu black beef that was okay, nothing to ride home about. I didnt know they were just cold cuts. (Not japanese so wasnt sure how to ordered the beef cooked at table side). Also ordered a plum wine, glass was completely filled with ice and only filled half way. The total amount was about 1/4 of the glass. don't remember the specific price but was overpriced and felt ripped off. Overall, atmosphere and staff were nice. Food quality extremely poor and wayyy overpriced. For this meal I spent well over 100 USD and left disappointed....

Made a reservation same night on a Sunday about one hour before our anticipated time, when we arrived our seats were prepared w wet towel and menus👍🏼

Absolutely loved our dining experience here! Very intimate, eight seat countertop w view of teppanyaki grill or if you’re a bigger party there’s one table that can fit 6 (maybe 8?) people.

There was the chef and assistant working, two person crew.. didn’t speak much English but we had no trouble communicating what to order/asking for recommendations. Always w a smile and happy to get us refills on water or to order more dishes
