インドカレー Sanan — Restaurant in Tokyo

Have to give it a low four stars because of the ashtrays, confusion over the menu, and the double entrance. The first sign that you see as you're coming up the main street is not the real entrance, but rather you have to turn down a little alley to get to the real entrance (with a similar sign). The naan was good but the curry was kind of thin and there was no control by the cook over the spice level. Hard to assess how much spice to add on your own. The ventilation is not very good and the first smoker had a major negative impact on the atmosphere. With an ashtray on every table, I have to shudder at how smoky it might get. Staff is Indian?

Reflecting on the experience I have to reduce it to a high three stars... I won't go back for fear of...

VEGETARIANS BEWARE: As a strict vegetarian, you should never go there. I ate there a couple of times (for the lack of choices) but once I casually asked the waiter that whether they use different spoons to stir meat and veg curries. But to my surprise, he said NO, there is same spoon for meat and veg foods. He also callously said "we are not a veg restaurant". Sure, but you are an Indian restaurant so better be sensitive about the food habits specially when it costs you almost nothing to keep an additional spoon. Also, too smoky inside and food quality is bad. I am NEVER going...
