As a big Omnipollo beers lover, I went there a couple of times, and was not disappointed until yesterday which will be probably the last time I go there. I went few minutes before for the opening, and the staff didn’t even bothered replying me when I said hi, probably because I was not an official customer yet as the bar was closed. Staff started to become more friendly after the opening… it feels like place is really business driven more than a place of passion like other brewery shops can be. And not acceptable, the shaved ice topping of the most expensive 400mL (not even pint size) beer at 2600¥ was not ready yet, it was just being made, ready only after 20min. It is like going to a bakery and the baker saying « sorry the bread is still in the oven ». And of course the bakers don’t do that, they prepare their breads in time for the opening, even if what they sell is 10 times less expensive. At this beer price tag, the service should be perfect, or the beer discounted if something wrong happens. In the end the staff said the beer I chose was not supposed to be served with shaved ice, even if they said the opposite when I arrived. In other words I feel like they lied to me, just to avoid the issue. Anyway I lost my trust in those people. Also there were some discounted cans, so I bought one, and realized the beer was 5-months expired. I have some beers like that in my fridge, so I don't really mind, but the staff did not mention it when I bought it, so I feel it is a bit sneaky, and not really transparent. Again they are here just to sell... In few words, a very poor customer service driven by money and not passion, which is a shame for Omnipollo who is one of the most creative brewery on the market. Omnipollo feels like Mikkeller Shibuya where I swore to...
Read moreOmnipollo fan visiting for the first time. The beers are very expensive- probably mostly a reflection of the weak yen so that cannot be helped. (Though their ‘30cl’ glass looks suspiciously less than 30cl….) Beer Selection - even as a craft beer geek, I found it a little too weird beer heavy. Pretty much all high ABV heavily lactosed/hazy types. Service - I fully understand the negative reviews on here. Dude at the bar seems more like staff of an expensive apparel shop, with a bit of a disdainful attitude towards non-artistic types who dare to wander in. Visually yes he fits (nouveaux hipster) but, a welcoming/easy going atmosphere, it is not. Perhaps management could give him some coaching. Aesthetically the place looks very cool inside and out. It wasnt very crowded when I was there (a Thursday night), and I didn’t encounter anyone who seemed to be a regular; perhaps the not-so-welcoming atmosphere has something to do with this. With a little bit of management tweaking this place could score 5 in...
Read more(日本語は下記に)I’d wanted to come this craft beer hidden place for a long time, as a close person of mine works there. The interior design is pop while retaining the old Eel building-Japanese, it seems to be designed by a world winner artist. It is worth a visit just to see. No.1 Perikles was surprisingly fresh and very easy to drink. Definitely repeated one!!(I ended up ordering this one again at the end of the day.) No. 4 Grandin, which was the first recommendation based on my preference, was extremely tasty!!!!! The No.10 (I think it was) was like tasting a sweet. It's a unique beer with a soft-serve ice cream on top, was fun to taste both beer and sweets at the same time. There are also sour and bitter taste with a strong pop flavor beers. As for food, a female staff recommended Oden, but sorry to say I'm not a fan of Tokyo taste as Osaka person... From a marketing point of view, wondered why they recommended Kanto-daki (oden) when I was enjoying a Scandinavian beer, a good quality beer in a stylish place. Sake goes better with oden to be honest. But! sausages were surprisingly good. The fries seems good I but too big portion so next time will try with friends. Felt like I was under the sea, surrounded by blue. The deep house sound made me feel relaxing with the delicious beer. Less customers that day. I stayed until the restaurant closed. There’s a guy said, "Four of my friends are coming later," he ordered 4 big mugs of beer just before the last order. So we had a little chat. After that, his friends rushed into. They didn't seem to be leaving after the closing time, so the staff replaced their mugs with takeout cups and let them have their beers. Very nice. Will come back again with bunch of foodies friends! No.10...
