This place has one of the best tasting Indian food I’ve come across. I’m used to dining at Indian restaurants and being from London it is very common to find Indian restaurants. However, the atmosphere, customer service and food in this restaurant is 5 Stars for sure! I would highly recommend visiting and trying out their Mutton Karahi and Butter Chicken - I must admit we had lunch and dinner here the following day as it was that good and all the additional dishes we had were superb. I suppose the 2 dishes mentioned above are my general favourite. On the first visit for lunch, I was greeted by the staff and they were polite, friendly and welcoming. Now, after my second visit for dinner I had the pleasure of meeting the staff with the same polite, friendly and welcoming stance. On both occasions, the ordering was simple and straight forward. The staff came in good time after seating us with the menu and then gave us the right amount of time before returning to take the orders. The food was prepared in great speed on both visits. We had reordered 2 dishes from our first visit and they tasted delicious on both days. The portions of the food are good as seen in the picture. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner Deep who is very friendly and welcoming. We spoke and discovered he has vast years of experience within the restaurant business and can feel the passion and knowledge he has for the trade. I’m looking forward to revisiting this restaurant and Deep when I visit Tokyo in the future! Thanks a lot for the great food and service guys. Keep up the hard work!

We visited Annam Indian Restaurant during our stay in Tokyo. Whilst recovering from a stomach bug and far from home, we decided to get some homely food to soothe the soul as I was missing my mum’s cooking. When we first entered the restaurant the atmosphere was good, however, this quickly changed as soon as we were seated. The restaurant itself presents well, with a mix of Japanese art and Indian style table sets. Once we were seated we were given two sets of menus, one being set menu ‘cash only’ and the other being Al La Carte ‘card payable’. We were confused by this that we had to ask 3 times to understand whether we could order from both menus or just one. We ordered a biryani set with drinks + curry set (naan) with drinks + 3 pieces of tandoori chicken. After ordering our food we were quickly rushed to another table as ‘a group of 20’ were coming. Once seated at our new seats, it took about 10 min to get our food. This is where the horror began. The naan was under cooked, doughy and oily. It was inedible. The biryani was okay, but lacked flavour. After another 10 min or so we were greeted with our tandoori chicken. After biting into the chicken the outside was hot but near the bone was cold and undercooked as well as pink. Once we alerted the server, they took away the two pieces we dug into and swiftly returned with the same half-eaten pieces but more cooked this time. I have never experienced a restaurant returning my half eaten food back to me and leaving the other untouched piece of chicken in the original plate instead of replacing the whole dish or even apologising. Please look at the photos. At this stage, we were severely disappointed and notified the server of our uncooked naan, in which they began arguing that it was doughy because of the cheese. Additionally, we were never given our drinks which was apart of the set menu orders. The final straw was the person who appeared to be the boss in a suit walking around our table speaking in what I think is either Punjabi or Hindi about us and staring at our half eaten food. However, instead of enquiring with us, he was clearly just complaining about us to his staff. Upon further review, if you look at the lowest reviews for this restaurant, you can see the real problem with the restaurant. The owner lacks accountability. The way in which he responds to bad reviews, replying with the likes of ‘fake review’ or that reviewers ‘are paid by someone else’ is just appalling behaviour. This restaurant seems to have disappointed both Japanese and Indian hospitality at the same time. Don’t be fooled by the 4.1 star review and I would not recommend this restaurant, unless you want to torture yourself with uncooked food and bad service.

We were looking for Halal restaurant to eat after a very long tiring day. Annam restaurant was just in the corner of our hotel and looked nice. The location is very good, the restaurant itself a floor bellow -1 makes the place very small dark and claustrophobic and with bad lightning, dark furniture and crowded decoration it's even uncomfortable atmosphere, at least for us. We ordered a dish for 2 to share (chicken, meat and fish). It was very delicious and well cooked but the portion are a bit tiny for the price I would say but was worth it and I recommend it. I was surprised that the dish is served alone with no rice or vegetable or anything like in other places. I understand that these dishes come with additional prices but this is the first time that such dish is served with sauces and absolutely nothing else. We had to order cheese Nan to go with it and it was excellent. The staff were nice and helpful. 5400¥ (without drinks) is pricey for what we get. Do you I recommend this place? Yes . if you want to eat and leave quickly and if your budget allows you, but avoid it if you are looking for a nice, warm and cheerful place. Also VERY IMPORTANT keep in mind that this restaurant offers a halal meat/meal but it's not a Muslim restaurant. the place is full of alcohol. The owner should consider some decoration changes to make lighter if they want to attract/ keep customers. We eat in record time because it was so dark that we couldn't stay.

First of all, the server made the experience really bad. Totally unprofessional and rude. It closes at midnight and we came to order at 10:45pm and he almost didn’t want to take us. Mind you, the restaurant closes at “midnight”. He did say kitchen closes at 11pm supposedly but we still came before 11pm. I almost preferred him just not taking us than FORCEFULLY, taking us in. We would have completely understood. When we were trying to rush and order he was rushing and panting. He was rude to me and my husband. Then when i asked for his suggestions that is when he gave me a rude tone, look and rude response saying “I don’t know what you like,” when I CLEARLY asked what does he suggest. I just had it and I had to ask him to calm down. That is when he started being “kind”. TOTALLY unprofessional and not to mention food was over priced. We just order two white rice bowls (plain) and two (Small) curry which almost equaled to 3740 yen. I was really looking forward to it cause of the reviews but man, I am just here to have a good time and this man right here made it bad to the point we just decided to take the food we ordered out. Tooo OVER PRICED AND DO NOT Recommend it. If you want a happy atmosphere this is not your place! P.s took a picture to show how small the curry was and my hands are short!

The restaurant is located in a very nice area of Ginza. Six minutes away from the main Ginza crossing. When we walked in, the owner himself, greeted us. He seated us and meet us feel very comfortable. He talked about his food how it was made with very little oil and healthy. Like a home cooked meal. We asked for a few adjustments some special requests he accommodated very quickly. Place has a lovely ambience. We ordered the paneer sag, chicken korma, lacha paratha, masala kulcha and mixed vegetables. He also gave us onions and aachar. Lets just say he will not need To wash our plates. The food was finger licking good. Our spice level was 1.5 since we do not like the food too spicy, but not bland either. 1.5 spice level was perfect. The Owner Deep is originally from Shimla Married to a Japanese lady and for all practical purposes Japanese. Very personable. Even the waiter Rishi from Nepal very nice gentleman. We can’t wait to go back there and Try the other dishes. If you are in Japan and want healthy food , not heavy, cooked in light oil - This is the place to go.
