Would NOT recommend this place. The food was average, though some of the appetizers were pretty good (samosas!). But the entire experience was poor because the staff just seemed dishonest. When placing our order, the staff changed the order themselves saying that those items were better. We didn't insist and just went with their recommendation. Main course was fairly average. When settling the check, the attendant just kept randomly adding items at the cash register - I asked him to verify the prices to me against the menu, or give me an actual check, but he said they didn't do that. Because the place was crowded and folks were waiting to get in, I didn't argue and just paid what he asked. In our entire 2-week trip to Japan, this was the most expensive restaurant we ate at, and it was only because the attendant charged us a completely random amount. Definitely not worth even half that amount! Just be careful and ask for a check, or better still, skip this place entirely. Food is not that great.
Go through their low rating reviews - other customers have also complained of exactly this issue. Just dishonest and greedy management, that's what it is.
UPDATE - just seeing the owners response to this review. What lies! We were a party of 4, visited last week, total bill was ¥14,800!! There was no discussion about tax at all - the dude just charged whatever he felt like. Now he’s responding with whatever crap he feels...
Read moreI have visited this restaurant three times, each with varying experiences.
First Visit – Lunch: The ordering process was straightforward, and the service was commendable. It was an enjoyable experience that left a positive impression.
Second Visit – Dinner: During dinner, I encountered some limitations. The set menu did not allow for substitutions, such as replacing the regular cheese naan with a special naan, even if I was willing to pay an additional fee. At the end of the meal, we inquired about the dessert featured in the dinner set photo. Instead, we were served a scoop of ice cream, which was presented as a complimentary item. This was confusing, as dessert was supposed to be included in the meal, and we had specifically anticipated the one shown in the photo.
Third Visit – Takeout: I attempted to order two special naans for takeout but was informed that I needed to order a curry as well. They stated that they do not sell naan alone, which was not indicated on the menu. This policy was unexpected and left me feeling disappointed.
While the food quality is commendable, the inflexibility regarding menu substitutions and takeout options has affected my overall satisfaction. Clear communication of policies on the menu would enhance the dining...
Read moreHidden gem in a small street in the Heart Of Tokyo. Went there with my father while shopping in Shinjuku and the munchies kicked in. We were greeted and seated right away. Restaurant is small with about 8 tables but was packed so we were lucky we walked in right on time one table was getting empty. It was very diverse in there, locals, foreigners, tourists, so expectations were high because looked like people traveled to eat there.
We were recommended a few dishes by our server and the manager but we picked what we wanted . Everything came out fast and sizzling. Portions were great and we barely had room for appetizer or dessert. Chicken Dum Biryani paired with yogurt sauce was scrumptious, Naan was crispy, soft and fluffy at the same time. The spice level was moderate, and the food was big portions and very reasonably priced. Also loved the fact that they overpower the taste with too much heat as the spice level on Indian food is usually overwhelming.
Overall, I traveled halfway across the world to try the cuisine in Japan and this quite honestly was even better the authentic Indian food in New Delhi. Highly recommend this restaurant over most of these overpriced fine dining restaurants in...
