Absolutely loved my visit to Cafe Tarot in Asakusabashi! This place is a true hidden gem—cozy, unique, and full of magical tarot charm. The pastries are absolutely delicious, especially the muffins and baked goods, all made in-house with quality ingredients. The coffee is perfect, rich and expertly brewed, with a variety of options including oat and soy lattes.
What really sets Cafe Tarot apart is its enchanting atmosphere. The decor is inspired by classic tarot designs, with beautiful art, tarot-themed pictures, and shelves of books about tarot to browse while you relax. You can even borrow different sets of tarot cards to explore your future or just have fun with friends as you sip your coffee. Each drink comes with a unique coaster featuring tarot motifs—a delightful touch that makes every visit feel special.

Read moreCute little coffee shop and cafe serving vegan muffins (about 6–7 flavours) and vegan breakfast plates! A definite must if you're vegan, vegetarian, or plant-based.
Try out the upstairs dining area where you can self-guide through a tarot reading while you wait for your food!
I had the avocado toast and vegan egg open-faced sandwich dish as well as a caramel latte with soy milk. The avocado toast was good (as expected with anything avocado) and the vegan egg sandwich was good as well! I think it's vegan mayo-based. Sure, no protein, but it was flavourful.
The bread used for the open-faced sandwiches was super soft and fluffy. The plate also comes with a generous-sized salad and small amounts of cucumber, mushroom, and carrot. It also has a neat orange sauce/dressing on it, which I really liked.
Friendly staff and nice dishes. You don't have to interact much with people after you order, though, as you then walk down and get your own food once your buzzer goes off, walk it back upstairs, and then there's a self-guided are to leave...
Read moreGot here on a Sunday at 10am, looking forward to having breakfast here - I've had falafels on the mind for a long time - then saw the sign on the door saying that business hours have changed to 11am, but takeout is available. So, I went in thinking to get falafels to-go, and the lady tells me that takeout is muffins and cookies only. I had checked their website, their Google Maps page and Instagram page before coming here, just to be sure that I will get my falafels, so imagine the disappointment, and the lack of consideration I felt, that they did not care to inform their customers of changes to their business hours. Nor did she seem apologetic that they had inconvenienced a customer who had gone out of their way to go to their shop. I would have appreciated some kind of update on at least one of their media platforms. Was not happy. And even the freshly baked blueberry muffin and oatmeal & chocolate chip cookie that I got instead didn't placate me, even though they were good. The search for falafels continues, but unfortunately, not...
