Caffe Veloce Ginza Miyuki-Dori — Restaurant in Tokyo

My friend and I walked past the restaurant and saw that the menu looked appetizing. My friend said we could order just some drinks since we planned to stay for no more than 10 minutes, as we had another place to go afterward. I let my friend place the order while I waited at the table. A staff member quickly came over and told me, in an impolite manner, that I must order as well, with a stern expression on their face. I felt that the staff had been trained to closely watch customers who sit without ordering, but they were not taught how to speak politely. I completely understand that the restaurant wants every customer to order something, but the way they communicate with customers should be more courteous. Service was good by the Cashier but she didn't state that you have to order 1 drink per person to sit at the table (group of 5, we ordered 2 drinks and 1 pudding). you can only take paper cup water if you've ordered a drink. The waiter was the rude one, he gestured we had too many paper cup AFTER we sat down (accidentally took extra), and we apologised. Didn't tell us how to correct it. He then came back AGAIN with an English card with all their T&C's of dining (should have done this in the first place?), stating 1 drink per person. We profusely apologised and quickly finished our drinks to leave but the waiter INSISTED we order another 3 drinks!! We left regardless as he wasn't listening to what we were saying. Suggestion, maybe put out the etiquette / T&C's card upfront at the cashier? Coffee was average, pudding was bitter for some reason....

Typical coffee shop competing with starbucks. Walked in for breakfast and they had a variety of sandwiches along with different hot and cold drinks. Chose the tuna and cheese toastie which was good and a cafe latte. Unfortunately all sandwiches were made with white bread which isn't the healthiest option.
