Hello, I would like to say I am usually a very calm and forgiving person but this place is simply dishonest and the owner is more worried about keeping his own pockets filled with money than being even a half decent human being.

I ate at this restaurant on the June 29th of 2024 with my family while on vacation. At first our experience was pleasant and the service was quite good. We began in the hallway where we had our first interaction with one of the servers. Before placing our reservation we displayed a car with Japanese translation letting them know about my peanut allergy. We also used google translate to ensure she understood what we were saying. She pointed out 1 dish on the menu that had peanuts. It was an appetizer with the main part being peanuts. She assured us this was the only item with nuts on the menu.

We then came back later and got our table. She took special time and with a red marker pointed out things she would recommend us try at the restaurant. At the table we again showed the server the peanut card to remind her of the allergy. She visibly showed that she understood the allergy and that I was safe. (This is all on cameras in the restaurants and the owner has sent us the pictures showing that we showed the card to the server) One of the dishes we ordered was RECOMMENDED by the server and was the bite sized fried dumplings. I ate 1 bite sized dumpling. This was the 1 and only bite of food i ate at this restaurant. Despite the many warnings we gave about my allergy and even the server pointing us away from a food with peanuts, (this showing that she understood what we were saying and that translation was not an issue) I was served a dumpling with peanuts inside. I spent a night at the hospital and almost died in the ambulance in rout to the hospital. In the video you would see the sever apologize for her mistake to my sister and stepfather after i had already left the restaurant and was heading to the hospital.

It gets worse. This is the funny part.

Nobody in our family had any major problems with what happened even though I almost died. My mother posted a negative review stating what happened hoping that it would prevent the same mistakes in the future. However, we were met with false hope when the owner personally reached out to her wanting to claim responsibility and cover our expenses. This was honestly so thoughtful and i was very grateful but we were disappointed 2 days after he responded to hear he changed his mind. He consulted with a lawyer and decided that it was our responsibility to translate the ingredients of the food and he even sent pictures of us showing the card in the restaurant so he could claim we only showed it once. I think it is very disappointing that someone who owns such a well established restaurant would have such a cold heart for his own customers.

I put this out here just as a reminder that the food is sub par at best as you can read and other reviews and most importantly you are nothing more than a way to fill this mans pockets. You are not important just as my life was not important. I would say you should eat here and you should have a good experience here but remember that you are supporting an establishment that would rather see people die than lose money.

Oh and one thing for the owner. I have this cool thing called google on my phone and I know how to read so I know as well as you do that I can sue you for way more money than my mom was asking. Rethink your choices or i suggest you start talking to your lawyer again because I wont be the one walking away...

I'm updating my initial review so that people who have food allergies know what to expect if they go to this restaurant.

My family was not able to enjoy the experience of this restaurant because even though we took precautions to highlight my son's peanut allergy with translation apps and even an allergy card in the Japanese language, the staff made a mistake and gave my son the one and only bite that he was able to eat at the restaurant which included peanuts. We corresponded proactively with the staff both at the time of reservation and time of service that there was a nut allergy. We shared this with several staff members. When we were ready to place our order the server knew about the allergy and highlighted recommendations on the menu provided as to what the try reassuring there were no nuts in the recommendations. Unfortunately there were.

Instead my son ate one bite of the fried dumplings and ultimately was ambulance to the hospital and spent the night where he fought to breathe. This was after me recognizing his reaction and giving him 2 epipens. My son spent the evening not only struggling to breathe but trying to communicate what was going on to hospital and emergency personnel. Thankfully Keio University Hospital saved my son.

After this incident I posted a review with the intent of highlighting to other potential customers with food allergies to be cautious if you eat here. In response to my review a representative did show compassion in acknowledge that the matter was taken serious by the company and they were willing to compensate for any losses to include compensation for my son's agony. Again the intent of my post was to help this company to realize it's shortfall and take steps to improve its menus and communication to prevent this from happening again.

Instead the owner started to reach out and rather than take responsibility, he tried to paint a story as if his restaurant held no responsibility to what happened. He missed the fact that in order to be a Tokyo Best Restaurant that wants to be visited by foreign customers, that it also means taking precautions when it comes to dietary restrictions and allergies in a way that the foreign customers understand what they're eating.

So to any potential customers who have dietary restrictions or food allergies, do not go to this restaurant because the owner has no intent to protect you. He has no intent to change the practices to make sure you are safe.

In our situation when the staff realized they made a mistake and my son had an allergic reaction to what they recommended, the staff showed remorse and even cried as they apologized. The owner on the other hand showed no remorse but was more interested in protecting public perception. He was not interested in covering the medical expenses or even reimbursing us for the food we paid for.

Again if you have food allergies I would not...

Do not go here unless you're ready to die. this restaurant Hospitalized my son...greedy owner. Don't trust the menu and ingredients can kill you. The restaurant Did not disclose the ingredienton menu. I've been trying to negotiate with the owner of this company for him to pay the hospital bills and related cost associated with his staff incompetence. Initial emails show that he acknowledged responsibility for his staff, giving my son a fried dumpling from the menu even after several times assuring an allergy card and using translation apps highlighting to them his peanut allergy. As soon as the incident happened and his reaction started his staff acknowledged and showed remorse.

As I dashed him to the hospital, He was scared for his life and struggled to breathe, as one fried dumpling process through his body.

Initially the representative owner of the company acknowledged responsibility. And over the last week, the owner has done everything possible to include Divert the responsibility on me. Reality is this... The restaurant had an english version of its menu on the website which did not include ingredients. Even. though we shared the allergy card several times with his staff prior to reservations and at the time of service , his staff recommended by mistake and item that included peanuts. It was a mistake and rather than taking responsibility, The owner continues to divert any expectation to compensate the losses, more or less sincerely Apologize to my son.

So this is my update review. If you have any food allergies do not eat at this restaurant. The owner will use any excuse to include His staff's inability to understand your language or the fact that you use a mobile required app to order your food which does not include the ingredients. You risk your life if you have an allergy to eating this food. Almost lost my son and this owner Failed to take responsibility...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and I must say, I was absolutely blown away by the amazing food and overall dining experience. From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The food at this restaurant is nothing short of immaculate. The flavors were truly remarkable. One dish that left me speechless was the fried dumplings. The crispy exterior combined with the perfectly seasoned filling created a burst of delightful flavors in every bite. And let me tell you about the 'Chinese spiced soup' gyoza—it was a unique and delicious twist that elevated the dish to a whole new level 🤤🤤🤤 To complement the exquisite flavors of the food, I opted for a 'freshly squeezed seasonal fruit sour' drink, and it was the perfect choice. The drink was incredibly refreshing, with a tangy sweetness that balanced the savory notes of the food beautifully. It truly enhanced my dining experience and left me feeling thoroughly satisfied!! Not only was the food exceptional, but the service provided by the restaurant staff was also top-notch 🥹🥹 The workers were extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel warmly welcomed from the moment we stepped in. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to offer recommendations added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. If you find yourself unsure of where to eat, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. The combination of savory and flavorful food, coupled with the refreshing drink options, creates a truly amazing dining experience. You won't be disappointed!!
