This is your typical deep fried pork cutlet restaurant. I ordered a combo with deep fried oyster and side order of large shrimp and scallop. The service was very fast and the server can speak some English. The first thing I tasted was the deep fried oyster, it tasted really good and has a umami flavor and most importantly they did not over fry it. The second I tasted was the scallop, it was just average. The third thing I taste it was the large shrimp 🍤. I was surprised that it tastes good and the shrimp is actually that big. A lot of store they cut the shrimp in half and lay over to make it so that it looks big but actually it's a smaller shrimp. Then I taste it cabbage, WOW I was blown away by the freshness of the shredded cabbage. I can say this is the best shredded cabbage that I ever tasted. Then I had to miso soup, it was pretty good and had the umami flavor of the miso plus there's a lot of ingredients in the soup itself which was a surprise too. I saved the last for the best is the deep fry pork cutlet. Unfortunately I don't know because it was the last thing I ate or because the pork cutlet is on the dry side, I feel that they overcooked it. I would have given them a five star if the pork cutlet is properly cooked Overall the meal was...
Read moreWonderful food, first of all! Note to the English speaking tourists, don't let this complex turn you away! It's a bit difficult to find on your phone, but this is in the 14th floor of the shopping mall complex! You can take an elevator straight up, and they have an English menu and they speak English so it is very friendly to tourists!
Now, the food was amazing and top notch! Not only do they explain how to use the sauces, but the menu provides a QR code you can scan for instructions.
The pork was so tender and lean, not greasy at all and just the perfect amount of fried. My wife got a chicken cutlet meal and that looked just as good, and the unlimited rice and sides were a nice touch but you probably will not need to refill. The meal, due to superior quality, will fill you up before you know it.
I also tried their Japanese draft beer and it was wonderful as well! I left the restaurant feeling happy in my stomach and my spirits high! Highly recommend, even for the slight journey to this shopping mall and then up to the 14th...
Read moreIt has been a while since I visited Katuskura outlet at Takashimaya and my dinner there this time with my usual order of their 90g of Oebi and Hire-Katsu once again never disappoint ...🐷🍤🥩😋
By the way, I really enjoyed grinding the bowl of saseme seed while waiting for my pork tonkatsu & ebi fry to be served. The aromatic smell of the crushed saseme seeds always made the wait very calming.
I loved the thick slice of cripsy fried tonkatsu which goes so well with their tonkatsu sauce mixed over the finely grinded saseme seed. The giant ebi fry (which I always eat the last) is fresh & comes perfectly fried with the right crunch.
Their rice, sliced cabbage & miso soup can be topped upon request. I also like their in-house pickle vegetables (available in packed packets for sale too at their cashier) which really enhance the deep fried tonkatsu paired together with the rice.
Service at Katsukura is always great with very attentive staff during all my visits.
For quality and yummy tonkatsu, Katsukura is a highly recommended...
