Negishi Shinjuku L Tower — Restaurant in Tokyo

Negishi has become one of our family’s go-to spots in Tokyo whenever we’re craving something hearty, comforting, and uniquely Japanese. Their specialty is grilled beef tongue, served as generous set meals with rice, soup, pickles, and tororo (grated yam). We’ve tried three branches so far — Akasaka, Ginza, and now Shinjuku — and the quality has been consistently good. The Shinjuku L Tower location is tucked inside a business building near Nishi-Shinjuku Station. We appreciated that it was quieter than Ginza, and there was no wait when we arrived for dinner. The set meals are well-balanced and satisfying — our older child loves the beef tongue, while our 3-year-old happily finished the grilled chicken set, which was soft and easy to chew.

The only downside is the seating. Across all branches, space is quite tight, especially if you’re coming with a stroller or shopping bags. We managed with a folded stroller beside the table, but it wasn’t the most comfortable setup. I’d suggest coming light and without a stroller if possible. There were no high chairs at any of the branches we visited, likely due to limited space, but the staff were accommodating and kind to our kids. English menus are available, and while not all staff speak English fluently, ordering is easy with photos and gestures.

For dietary restrictions: most sets are centered around beef tongue or chicken, and while not halal-certified, the food is pork-free based on our experience (but always best to double-check). For families: portions are generous, and even young kids can enjoy the grilled chicken set. However, there are no high chairs, and tight seating makes it a bit tricky for toddlers. In terms of accessibility, the restaurant is located in a modern building with elevator access, but inside, the seating layout is very compact. Honestly a bit disappointed by the beef tongue. Tried thick one seems to be the best among 3 options. Texture was okay but can’t bring out the original taste of beef tongue. I won’t visit again though the price is...

お昼少し前にお店にお伺いしました。 一人だったのですぐに入れました。 今回は「まるねセット」 白たん、赤たんが入ってます。 タンはコリコリしていて 大変美味しかったです。 麦ご飯はお代わりできます。 大盛りにしちゃいました～

今度は「牛たん＋生ビールセット」 いただきたいです〜

今回もおひる少し過ぎていきました。 少し席が空いてるくらいでした。 今回は「麦とろステーキセット」に してみました。 とろろのかわりサラダにするセットもあります。 味はよかったのですが 筋ばっていて切りにくかったです。 レモンもついてきたので 搾るとスッキリした感じの味で 美味しかったです。 麦ごはんもおかわり出来ます

2022/09/19再来店 祭日のお昼に行きました。 ちょうど席が空いていたので すぐに案内して頂けました。 今回は「牛たん3種盛りセット」を 頂きました。 白たんの厚切りは柔らかくて 美味しかったです。 コロナ禍なので対面席に透明な 仕切りが設置してあります。 ご飯のお替りは 相変わらず出来ますよ!
