Raishū-ken — Restaurant in Tokyo

Popped in just at closing time. Apparently this used to be a noodle factory going back to 1910, then in 1950 they opened a ramen shop. The decor has not changed either. I was greeted by a nice elderly lady who recommended the wantanmen (ワンタンメン). It took 3 minutes to get my order. I went for the toppings first and they were excellent. The menma in particular had been marinated in something sweet, perhaps mirin. This complemented the saltyness of the chashu. The wantans were soft, doughy, and addictive. I don't usually like wantans in my ramen, but I'll make an exception for these anytime. The shoyu broth had a sweet note to it as well. I coudnt confirm, but I suspect the noodles were hand made. Additionally I ordered shumai (シューマイ) and they were kindly added for free :) I covered the shumai with ponzu sauce and mustard as per the woman's instructions, and they were deliciously satisfying. 平日の昼間。 普段はあまり来ない浅草。色々調べるとやはり美味しそうな飲食店がわんさかありますね。

今回は町中華に絞って探した結果、こちらのお店へ足を運ぶことにしました。

この日の初客で訪問。 昭和臭漂う外観がとても趣があり、一見"営業してる？"と思ってしまいますがご安心ください、ちゃんと営業しています笑。 暖簾がなかったらなんのお店かサッパリわからないのもまた一興ですね笑。

店内はテーブル席と半円形のカウンターあり。 壁には一面びっしりとサインが貼ってあり、 ・笑ゥせぇるすまん作者 ・稀勢の里 その他に、落語家や演歌歌手のサインが多数ありました。

外観内観合わせて総じて昭和。 みんなノスタルジックと言うのがよくわかりますね。

今回注文したのは上記の通りです。

▼ワンタンメン 鶏ガラ。 醤油キレあり。スープ自体は本当によくある町中華のラーメンて感じです。昔懐かしく、嫌いな人は誰一人いないでしょう。

ほんのり平打ち中太麺。 提供がめちゃくちゃ早くて驚きました笑。 ものの数秒です。 ワンタンは7個程度。

チャーシューがほろほろで柔らかく美味しい 次回はチャーシューメンを注文したいですね。

途中で胡椒とお酢入れてより美味しくなりました。

▼シューマイ お肉はほぼ入ってない笑。 弾力のある何か、野菜？でしょうか。 これは美味いのか？笑。 不思議な食べ物でした。 これも昔ながらなのでしょう。 お肉ゴロゴロのシュウマイをイメージしたらダメですね。

以上です。 昭和にタイムスリップしたかと思えるほどに、平成生まれの私にとってはなにかワクワクするようなお店でした。 近くにきたらまた寄りたいですね。
