I went to the first branch and when I got there, they'd just let in their last batch of customers for the day and 2 couples were still waiting to get in. So I asked the host if I could wait too and he said that they're closed now but the second branch was still open. So I was like, ok, but the couples were still waiting there like they didn't know what's going on? I was already halfway to the second branch when I returned to confirm whether it's ok to proceed to the second branch, and only then the host communicated to the couples that the first branch wasn't accepting customers anymore. 🙄 So a lady from the second branch came to fetch us and off we went in one line like a bunch of kindergarteners. I kinda regret returning 'cos I could have walked to the second branch on my own and not be treated like a child.
BUT ANYWAY. I opted for the 8000 yen omakase, and was underwhelmed by the experience because I'd had better sushi elsewhere, some even outside of Japan. The flavors were too mild that they were non-existent. The ebi served was slimy and definitely tasted funny, I had a hard time swallowing it and the other customers too made weird faces when eating it.

Less crowded and interior looks authentic. The chef who served me named 一重直二 is very skillful. Can speak some English and willing to talk with customers. Store manger/chef is also great.
Sushi sets has 3 choices. I picked the 2nd one. All the sushi are very delicious and with various favors. I also had another additional piece of hadate uni, on top of the set. That uni is known as the best uni in Japan. It’s very delicious, creamy, sweet with long-lasting after taste. Very unique from other common uni. It’s really worth trying.
If you prefers a quiet and authentic sushi place with great and fresh sushi and great service, I do recommend this place a lot. It’s also under the same famous 秀徳。For me, I really want to go...
Read moreIt was a terrible experience. We ordered the 2900/4200 yen omakase menu, and the sushi they served was not even fresh - my friend got sick in the stomach after eating 3 pieces. And the chef didn't stop serving more and more even though we apparently stopped eating. When we tried to communicate with the manager, they insisted we need to pay 50% of the price. I suggested we pay for what we have eaten, because the quality of sushi was unacceptable (not fresh at all, and it's way worse than anything you can get in Taipei and Hong Kong) and they refused.
We had to pay 3550 yen at last and this is a shop we will tell friends and blacklist forever.
They do have another shop on the same street, but I don't know whether the quality would be different. We went to the one on the first floor, maybe the one on ground floor served different sushi for people who can...
