An 60-Year-Old Chinese Restaurant in Ginza. Can This Really Be Called Chinese Food??

Today we visited Ginza Tenryu! This is a long-established Chinese restaurant that has been in Ginza for many years. I enjoyed the taste of a long-established Chinese restaurant that has been in Ginza for many years. A word of review. A Chinese restaurant with a long-established style. The burgundy box lights give it a high-class Ginza feel and a good old-fashioned atmosphere. Access from the station Five minutes walk from Ginza station. Access was excellent. Seating The restaurant is spacious with mainly table seating, creating a relaxing atmosphere even for one person. Interior The interior is typical of a Chinese restaurant, with a relaxed atmosphere. The burgundy lights create a luxurious atmosphere. Dishes We had fried rice and dumplings, both of which were excellent. The baked dumplings in particular were large and very satisfying. I enjoyed the delicate flavor. You should order this one! Menu Menu The baked gyoza is a must-try dish. The plate full of dumplings is very satisfying and exquisite. Price The price for fried rice and gyoza is reasonable, about 3000 yen, which is a very satisfying price.

This store is overly hyped. We ordered gyoza, Mayo shrimp and stir fry of beef and vegetables. I definitely had better Gyoza at other stores. The gyoza is big and one of a kind. Average in taste. About the shrimp Mayo, which is also their signature dish is a waste of Mayo. This dish made a Mayo lover stay away from Mayo. This dish has unnecessary coating of Mayo. I underestimated the amount of Mayo on the plate. Good concept, but poor delivery of the concept. In all, this is a Chinese fast food restaurant. Fast delivery but the food quality is below average. If you don’t mind the food quality part, it’s a good place to visit. But I won’t suffer again.

A long-established Chinese restaurant in the middle of Ginza, famous for its gyoza (Chinese dumplings). Almost everyone who visits this restaurant orders gyoza. It is hard to tell from the picture, but each gyoza is very large, about twice the size of a regular gyoza. Although the size is large, the taste is very delicate and deep. The inside of the gyoza is so full of juices that they come out when you bite into it. They have a strong flavor that goes well with both alcohol and rice. There are many other tasty dishes besides gyoza that you can't find anywhere else, so if you have the energy in your stomach, please give them a try.

We ordered the 8-pc gyoza (big but a little too oily and adding prawns would make the filling taste better), spicy soba (not too spicy), sweet and sour pork (crispy and meaty) and mapo tofu (not very spicy). The food tasted pretty good, but not very legit. Though perhaps it’s the Japanese twist on the dishes. The prices were also rather expensive (we spent 5320¥ in total), but I guess it’s to be expected since the restaurant is in Ginza. The service was good and there is an English menu. The restaurant is located on Level 4 within Plaza Ginza. We arrived at 8:30pm on Saturday and was seated after a 10-15min wait.

Ok.. these are certainly not authentic Beijing food they so claimed. The 'mayonnaise prawns' and 'oyster sauce fried noodles' are more like Singaporean/ Malaysian style dishes - and absolutely can't hold a candle to the South East Asians (the former was oily below an overindulgence of mayonnaise, the latter lacks flavour and was a bad copy. 'Sour and spicy soup' doesn't look right from the onset - seems more tomato than spicy and taste far from what one expects of the Sichuan soup. Gyoza was average - the filling is too meshed/ minced - thus lacking texture. Some home cook makes better ones. Disappointed.
