Ok, I'd actually give this spot a 2.5.
A vampire themed cafe in Tokyo? As I'm a vampire aficionado, I was down to go as soon as my friend suggested it, especially since Halloween is coming up.
SEATING: It was a Friday when 4 of us visited. We didn't have reservations, but the staff seemed like they went out of their way to rearrange the "busy" schedule to fit us in. We came back 30 minutes later and were seated. It's the weekend before Halloween, so they had a special menu to look at in addition to their wooden coffin box drink menu and traditional menu of European-esque food. When you are ready to order, you ring a bell and an undead server attends to you. Very dark, as they are trying to get the ambiance of a Vampire's castle.
FOOD: I ordered a sidecar (okay) and the Tiramisu with Mont Blanc. The Tiramisu had way too much cream and not very flavorful. It was presented with a small spider shaped puff pastry.
My friend ordered the pasta dish, which was not bad, very creamy and garlic. (Garlic in a vampire cafe?! So wrong.)
Another friend ordered the fried camembert, which wasn't too terrible. Served on crackers with a red sauce. It was plated in the shape of a cross, another vampire aversion.
STAFF: The vampires seemed rather angsty once we were seated. I guess who wouldn't be if you weren't able to sleep. Costuming wise, I'd give them 3 stars. Could have done better, but the blood red contacts one of the women had on were awesome. However, she didn't seem to help us by taking our photo with "Dracula." I felt like I was really inconveniencing Dracula as he was very impatient with us. :/ The last (blond) vampire we encountered was the nicest. While we were waiting for the elevator, he tried making small talk with us, asking were we traveled from.
Overall, you're here for the experience, not really the food or drink. Too bad they were too grumpy, I probably...
Read moreThe theme is great. The ambience is great. The food and service is awful.
We are American, and they put us in a tiny booth and closed the curtain, Cutting out our view of the entire reason we came in the first place. Then they gave us 18 menus and only served us what we booked for. Why give us other options if you don't even take our order?
The food tasted fishy and kind of old. My wife even said at one point the flaming dish with the potatoes tasted like dirt.
The bill was massive, and the 6 course meal that they charged is for, was all super mediocre food that looked pretty and tasted bad that was portioned for one person but we shared it all, thinking it would be cheaper.
Between each course, they crowded us with plates, as if the portions were sharable, but as we shared the food, they just brought more plates! Rachel, our sweet as pie server, would bring is plates, then some other girl would just come take them away, then close the curtain again [after I tried to keep it open]
The Playlist for this vampire cafe was also 8 different versions of the themesong from nightmare before Christmas, it was awful. One after another, it was like being in hell.
To top off the experience, apparently there is a main vampire guy. We wouldn't know because he had two fan girls he just leaned in to talk to because they were japanese so he just talked to them for their whole meal, that that didn't stop him from dropping us his menu for all his merch on a laminated card. It was cringe. Just...just...

This restaurant was so amazing. The experience was so great that I wish to go back in the future. The staff was so nice, accommodating and very in character.
I got to the restaurant without any reservations. It was a bit hard to find the place at first but later I found it. It was mostly a problem with the map. The staff greeted us and we were so astonished by the entrance. As soon as you walk off the elevator you are transferred to draculas layer. It was awesome. We sat down the staff gave use themed menus and explained everything so through. We ended choosing the 8 course menu and a la carte. The menu was so incredible and so tasty. The entire meal was made specifically to our liking. There was everything from fish to Wagyu and the best thing they also gave you desert.
The other stuff we ordered were seafood pasta and avocado. Which was so delicious and made so perfectly balanced. For starters we ordered the spring rolls and they were good but spring rolls are mostly the same everywhere. These were nothing special but they were delicious and did not disappoint.
The staff also makes a scene when they bring out your food. It was so cool. When the salad came out they made a spell and poured draculas blood over the salad . It was perfect. Everyone enjoyed it.
I wil definitely come back and i definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. It’s nice and I will also add to make yourself part of...
